I don't see a lot of options. Manual everything, two speed wipers, STD 3.23 rear end (noted by the smaller radiator). Interesting to see the Prestolite dizzy. Take the value of a done car and back off from there. Paint and body could easily run upwards $10K if done right. Add rechroming, interior, drivetrain..... I don't know....$5KUS for the core??

Unfortunately in this market the cost to restore it to just a dependable, respectable driver, not to a #1 car will out weigh the value of such a car at $20K which is about where one of these cars ar selling at today. The sad part is that the car has more value as a parts car for the guys that are stuck in the middle of a resto at this point in time. Unless you can do all the work yourself and don't plan on making ANY money on it if you have to sell it in the near future it is a lost cause.

probably worth less than $5K if you can dispose of every saleable part, although with the picture you have provided that may be high depending on the condition of the sheet metal. If that top passenger side front fender is not a good indicator of the rest of the sheet metal then I am high. The new sheet metal available for these cars has impacted the value of used sheet metal.

Thanks everyone for the input. This was my dads car he bought it brand new. Hasn't been on the road since 1982. I really wanted to be able to restore it but it just isn't in my budget. We found the build ticket when we took out the back seat (while checking everything out) I figured I would have to sell it as a parts car but would prefer to sell the whole thing and not bit by bit.

You have a chance to restore your dads car. So is he selling it to you? If he is gifting it to you than you are ahead of the game money wise. I would love to say I restored my dads 69 RR back to new. It has personal value in my opinion. That has to be worth something to you doesn't it? Take your time and do a little at a time. Hey, this is just my 2 cents but, I think you'll regret selling it.

There are lots of people out here that would KILL for the chance to restore their fathers cars, If it's been in the family since new , keep it , restore it. so what if it takes time, restorations don't have to be rushed, and they usually turn out much nicer when they are not rushed.

I believe the prices will bounce back on these cars, Me current restoration project was over budget 3 years ago, that will cut into the profit margin IF I try to sell it in the near future, ....but it's a keeper, and I don't ever plan on selling this one, I'm planning on dying with this one, so I don't give a rats ***, if I spend more than the current value of the car or not,

Here's an example, a car could be worth $ 250,000. but that means nothing when it is Not for Sale.

I say take your time on restoring the car like a few have said. This car is part of the family.

I think the fenders look like they need replaces if the tops have the rust out that I think I see in the pictures. They are not hard to find and should not cost a lot to get a good set.

How are the quarter panels?

The roof dosnt look bad might be surface rust and not all the way through on it.

This is a canada car right?

I say restore this one over time. Take stock in what you will need for parts and buy them when you can. The more you find that you need right off the better you are in the game of restoring the car.

I have left the hobby for six years cause there where not enough parts for my 70 R/T and I also got sick. The more I thought of selling the car the more people offered me less and less.

This is the longest I have owned any car and its part of the family now so take your time and restore it.

How many people can say they knew the car way back when and its been in the family since new?

I agree whole heartedly with 69hemicoronetr/tconv. I have found my dads RR and its not for sale. I searched for it for ten years. I would pay way more than market value for that car. So I say keep it. Now for reference I just bought a 69 RR from the original owner in Febuary and paid 2800 for it. It needs substancial sheet metal replacement hence the low price. I am interested in your car if you decide to sell.

If you really don't see beign able to restore it ever, I'd be sure to sell to someone that can do the job. Looks like a good start! keep it if you can there is no hurry!

I agree. This puts a whole different spin on things.

You say you would like to restore it. Regardless of what you think it may be worth when done, do it for yourself and the peice of your dad to always remember. Don't you have stories and fond memories of the car when you were a kid? I know I would.

If it is not affordable to you now just find a place to store it out of the elements for now. Things will probably eventually change fror you finacially and if you sell it you will be sorry later.

You don't have to satisfy ANYONE but yourself on how you restore it so if the big dollar OEM show stopper is not what you want then just make it respectable, drive it, and have fun with it. Get a vanity plate that says "DAD RR"

This car would be Priceless to some people, as far as Sentimental value is concerned.

You can't put a price tag on a memory, ....or at least I can't,

That's one reason my 69 Hemi Coronet Convertible will NEVER be Sold, Me and my Dad found the car in 83 and we tried to buy it then, many, many times.

I wasn't able to pry it away till May 06 when I drove down to check and see if it was still there and to show my Son a REAL Hemi car,

My Dad passed in Feb 06, Restoring this car was a dream we both had, The talks we had about the car and all the times we tried to buy it are memories that I will forever cherish.

I wish he was still here to see it all come together. Now Me and My Son will finish it out and it will be left to him when I am gone.

I'll go along with most of the people here that say you should restore - or at least make presentable again - you dads RR.

As you mentioned your budget may no allow it right now but if you have time, free space and lots of determination it wouldn't take much time to slow down the deterioration. A few dollars in chemicals and a lot of elbow grease will take care of the deep surface rust. Restoring a car is mostly cleaning parts anyway. Seems to me 90% of what I do on my cars is clean rust and old paint off of stuff. It's tedious and hell but it doesn't really cost you anything.

Just get it running and driving, and chip away at the stuff you want to. Keep it ratty, just keep it!

keep it I bought mine back in 90' and still not finished. I just do a little at a time as I have the money.

Im like you bought my 70 Coronet R/T back in the 90s finished another car started on this one and had a stroke while in the process of restoring the car and it sets now.

I wont be selling it off any time soon.
