That would be my first car that I had which was a 1973 Dodge Challenger 340 rally.

My first car...... a '71 new yorker... flying, in style.

Not only did I exceed the sound barrier. I lost my licence for two years. A 3000.00 fine and my insurance company said. Were sorry, your not welcome here.
73 Pantera.

70 super bee. 383 4 speed. Got pulled over doing 120 some odd mph past the kmart in walla walla by 2 state patrol cars. Racing a Honda Civic, one got me and the other got him, thought for sure I was going to jail. Had 6 people in my car. State patrol let both of us go and said go home, if we see you out again tonight it’s not gonna end well. So that’s what I did. And yes, I won the race

1968 Chevelle. First car I owned capable of it.
Notice I didn't say "safely" in that statement...

1968 oldsmobile 98.
400 ,455 , who knows . That boat had a circle / wrap around speedo.
It would wind out lol.

1979 Mazda Rx7 Street ported. But drove like the family truckster after the jump. 130 felt like re-entry into earths atmosphere. Shook like hell and felt like it was coming apart.

1970 383 Road Runner paid 400 bucks for it.
Past well over 100mph but car was old and worn and started shaking like it was coming apart so I backed off.
Still drove for another few years with never an issue.

You might not believe this, first car 1958 Chev Delray lower than a Biscayne 235 stove bolt six, hit 101.
Next was Dad’s 1961 Pioneer 313 poly it would roll the speedo segments all the to 120.
Interesting, he had all family names on the title of ownership. I was only 13. Sold the car 2 years ago.

I had a 58 Delray moredoor I bought in Moosejaw. 14 quarts of oil and 2 tanks of fuel, back to Western Alberta. Killed every mosquito from there to here. 45 some years ago.

I had a 58 Bel air two door hard top 235 3 in the tree down hill passed a Camaro and he said he was over doing over a 100 I had to take his word for it

70 Monte Carlo SS 454. Well into triple digits. Think I was 18-19.

My 2nd car, a used 68 Dart GTS, 340 4 speed.
Beat up that poor car, finally blew the engine, missed 3rd gear and the tack shot over 7000rpm.

Well, it's probably not worth mentioning doing an average of 100 in a Chevy cargo van from Columbus OH to Richmond KY in about 2 1/2 hrs, not worth mentioning hitting over 100 in a BMW 5 speed or a RAM 1500. But I guess I just did. What is worth mentioning is blowing the doors off of some clown with a hopped up Chevy 350 and hit over 120 easy in my first 69 Dodge Charger 440 727 auto.

Early summer of 1968 ,in my 67 440 Gtx, a buddy and I had been on the beach , up and down Freeport TX area for a weekend, of girl and more girls in bikinis, and were burned alive , cruising north on I-45 North ,headed back to Conroe Tx and traveling about 70 mph , when a young dude pulled up to us in 67 396 SS Chevelle and wouldn’t leave it alone, buddy said ,well , and I hammered on it for it was around 2am and freeway was clear for a mile or so ahead, except for a set of taillights, which we soon found it to be a Greyhound bus or two, race was pretty even for a while but at 145mph on my speedo, I pulled away from him as we ,both pulled over in the fast lane to pass the busses , only to find ,a State Trooper, escorting the buses , Oh Hell ,the Fury was a new one with a 375 hp 440 and say the least he was pissed , I immediately started slowing down , but the chevelle got impounded for the night ,and driver went to jail ,cause he tried out running the Fury , trouble for him started ,when he tried shifting down for a quick exit and a flip flop on interstate! I got a $165 ticket and he got much more ! My problem was a worked at the Dodge house and made maybe $60 bucks a week! Last time I ran top end like that , loved that street drag racing and later SS/FA and Dickinson Tx dragway and Super Stock Racing ,especially against Shirley Shanahan !
