Who says ya can't have BOTH ?
I tried to buy this, but there was already an old woman who lives in it View attachment 1840360
Yes. A major reason the house isn't in play.need to clarify....... does the wife go with the house?
I gave up too but the back up plan is I told my wife when I pack it in, scrape all the insurance money together and buy a green / white stripe Daytona. Then she can be happy for the both of usNope: Since I was 14 my life goal was to own a 70 HemiCuda 4 speed and a 69 Hemi Daytona 4 speed. I achieved the HemiCuda and it was a disappointment, never made the Daytona and I'm over it now.
When I test drove my GTX back in 1970, the car initially offered for the ride was a '70 Hemi Cuda with a four speed. I knew the other car was cooler to most folks, but I always liked that GTX better. Saved me significant bucks by being a bit of a freak in that department.Nope: Since I was 14 my life goal was to own a 70 HemiCuda 4 speed and a 69 Hemi Daytona 4 speed. Hawk, as you and I have discussed in person, a back story can really change the picture. The thread posted a few years ago by @RRDon really made an impression on me, when he offered to pay $100K for his former 383 Road Runner, if it could be located. I was prepared to pay that much for my car, for the same reasons, but I really got lucky, and didn't have to. The even better part of the Demonstrator's story, is it looks like it will ultimately end up with the Clark family, after skipping a generation.OK, none I'd really sell my house for - where would I keep it if I did that???![]()
My pinnacle car I always wanted was a 70 Road Runner with an air grabber hood scoop. I got one 13 years ago, restored it and I still love it. I will never sell that car. Here is mine, that most of you have seen many times:

There is one other car that I really want. But like @68BabyBlue it is one particular car - no other. It is my father-in-law's 1963 split window Corvette. He and my mother-in-law drove it on vacations and enjoyed it a lot, and I'd love to still have it in the family. He sold it a number of years ago, and the likelihood of me getting that car back is unfortunately low. His car was red on red, with a 340 HP 327, close ratio 4 speed and 4.11 rear. It also had power windows, which was a rare option in 1963. It looked like this:

If I had the ability to try and purchase it, I wouldn't sell my house for it, but I would stretch quite a bit to acquire it. There is something about family heirlooms that make these machines much more than a car.
Back to the shop Huggy Bear.purple Cadillac with leopard skin seats![]()
