70 Belvedere. Bracket goes from vent window attachment inside door (long stud) to front door jamb by upper hinge (short studs). Broke stud, now need replacement bracket, but don't know what to ask for.

Thanks - Jim

That's a good question Jim....Vent Window support bracket? LOL

How about put that in a vice, grab a punch and a hammer and pop the busted stud out? Replace the stud or run in a bolt and tac weld it in place? Wire wheel/cabinet blast clean, paint and call'er good

Same thing happened to me. Studs are available for less than a buck. Weld it, blast, and paint. Pretty easy fix.

Agree with the above posts...pop out the broken stud and replace with a bolt, or if you are concerned with it looking original, go to fastenal.com and look for a stud. They should have them. If you are lucky, you may have a store near by. We happen to have one in town.

Same looking stud? Where did you buy it?

I do have a fastenal by work, if need be.

Like others have said grab a new bolt and weld it in. You can grind the head down on a carriage bolt too if you can`t find the exact bolt your looking for. But really at the end of the day whose ever gonna notice?

I couldn't find them at a Fastenal, but did on ebay from a seller jrcj7 . 1/4 -20 x 3/4 weld studs. Item #200721274676. They were 6.88 for 10 with free shipping. I have a couple left. If you just need the one, pm me your address and I will send it to you.

Thanks for the info and the offer. After I take apart the other window assembly, we'll see if I still only need one stud. If so, I may take you up on your offer. Jim

Might as well pop out the good studs to take with for a match, and replace all 3. If one was likely to fail, the others will be too.

They don't just pop out, but are welded on the front side with 3 small bumps on the mating surface. The others should be ok if you take it easy removing the nuts. After replacing one, you will be more careful on the remaining ones.
