From time to time folks inquire about what their car may weigh, or how much weight can be saved over stock by doing certain mods.. I was thinking it might be a good point of reference to have so.....my car:
'68 satellite
Glasstek 6 BBL bolt-on style hood
'73 440 with RPM aluminum heads
Aluminum water pump,housing, radiator
Performer RPM intake
Demon 4bbl
1-7/8 TTI headers
No A/C or Heater components
Manual front disc brakes & power steering
2 front buckets from an '04 stratus
Steel wheels, 15x8 rear, 15x6 front
8-3/4 rear
Powermaster 9300 starter
Larger-than-stock-size battery
Everything else basically factory...weighed at a recycling yard (regulated and calibrated scale)
1/2 tank of gas, without me in it and only a small bag of emergency tools in the trunk..
3450 lbs(not as heavy as people think!)
