I was Parts Manager in another life at an AMC/JEEP dealer in the 70s . Still remember some part #s-sick huh. Some of them were really quick, also look at a Rebel Machine silhouette- it's a B Body

I would have loved to work at that job. AMC had some really noteworthy stuff.
 
It was the best job I ever had, just didn't pay well. You are correct, they produced some wild stuff, SC Ramblers are downright scary, go pack Javelins were way underrated. But probably the most notable engine is the Rambler straight 6. Starting in the late 50s,refined over and over but basic design remained. It quit production in 2006 as Jeep's 4.0, can you say legendary?
 
Almost as rare as any mopar I've owned.

Had a crush on this girl that had a Gremlin with the 304 in 73 or so. Don't remember what package it had but it handled great and hauled butt pretty good too. Her personalized license plate was PF-FLYR. She didn't like me that much because I was too much of a gear head she said. Hell, thought she was more of a gear head but she wasn't at all. The AF had a few AMC cars that I got to drive and they impressed me with the way they handled plus they felt nice and tight and didn't rattle like the Fords did. The Ford cars handled like crap....

I'll say that's rare! Very few made and very hard to find parts for them. That's a very cool car that can hold its own in the 1/4 mile! Nice!
