Whats YOUR opinion on the new Chrysler?

Hey guys go to Allpar.com and scroll to the very bottom and click on 2011 Chrysler and Dodge Charger ,they are really nice. They will do very well

Chrysler used to be THE cars to have when you wanted a "gentleman's hot rod" How about this BEAUTIFUL 1959 Chrysler 300E? Fantastic exterior styling, a luxurious interior and a dual quad big block engine! Even farther back than that in the 30's and 40's, Chrysler produced some FANTASTIC cars and their only competitor were the GM Cadillac's of those era's.

To me personally, The Chrysler Corporation lost their way in the top of the line luxury car market back in the mid to late 60's when they started building cars that really didn't offer all that much more than what was being offered by the more basic Dodge and Plymouth models, other than being a bit larger. Having the once top of the line Chrysler division now selling vehicles like the P.T. Cruiser and Mini-vans doesn't help their image these days either. Don't get me wrong, I believe that the P.T. Cruiser's and the Mini-vans have their place in the automotive market place, but NOT in the once luxurious Chrysler model line up. :( I DO like the newer 300C's, but if I was going shopping for a LUXURY car, I'd REALLY hate having to side step all of the little kids and their parents there on the same showroom floor looking at Mini-vans!

In my humble opinion, CHRYSLER should sell luxury cars, DODGE should sell performance cars and trucks and they should bring PLYMOUTH back to sell Mini-vans and economy cars, so that buyers can zero in on a product line that they are looking for AND the dealerships could also cater to folks looking for the types of vehicles that they have for sale. You do NOT use the same sales techniques to sell a 300C, as you would use to sell a Mini-van. It would work well for everybody involved.

Just saying.......

Richard

Thank you Bankerstoy!!! you hit the nail dead on :yes::yes: THAT is exactly my point,I asked everyone I could at work today who they thought was the most luxorious car maker of the big 3 and EVERYONE said Caddy(of course),look at the new ctsV for example,556hp 0-60 in less than 4 seconds, blown V8,.I would still take a 300C SRT8 any day and put the blower myself, but common thats pretty damn impressive for a factory built family sedan, I to hope plymouth is brought back and chrysler revives its image it be cool to see some of the old concept cars brought out like the Chronos,Atlantic,Pheaton, I think those are TRUE chrysler designed master pieces and are more cutting edge than anything out there today.

If it is Luxury one is after then it is Imperial. Imperial is the only Brand that came close to match Cadillac, but Imperials look a lot better.

Why cant we have that today? sure having "the new Chrysler" is better than none because of the whole "going broke" trouble in the past, but then again SO WAS GM! and they still managed to pull through and keep their image( cadillac),I just think the Chrysler branch itself has to be a little more aggresive towards making a line up of cars that make a bold statement of true american enginuity, rather than "better dressed" Dodge Models(stratus, caravan, durango,)

They've kept Cadillac, but I'm not sure that is saying much. Their resale is dreadful, and when they start to go bad, it's time to cut and run. GM also has NOT repaid all of what they owe....despite what they try to make you believe by their recent "photo op", and they've also lost Olds, Pontiac, Saturn, and Hummer.

not sure I'd call that a success story

True, I stand corrected,I just wish Chrysler would get more aggresive in terms of their design and engineering.

Chrysler is m,aking money again. Fiat is loosing money worldwide. I expect Chrysler to go out on it's own. The Fiat relationship is better than the mercedes relationship. The Benz company cleaned out all the cash Chrysler had. The italians seem to be more passionate about this Brand succeding but hopefully they will divest themselves and Chrysler will be a US Company again.

As long as we're beating a 2 year old thread...

I'll submit this-

Fiat= Ferrari.

Is Sterling just gone?

That was a bizzare shuffling of brand and product, but I was kind of enjoying seeing Mopar medium and heavy trucs again.

I'm glad we have CAFE standards and Cat Converters, etc. Remember the days of choking behind some guy's car at a light; spewing **** at us, just idling? I do, no need to visit those days again.

Chrysler brand needs to go upscale again, bring back Plymouth for the cheap brand and put FIATs in there, and perhaps a 'Cuda based on the Challenger, but make it cheaper.

Those days are still here. :) A cat doesn't stop oil burning and smoke from bad rings or valves.

Well that and the fact all todays current models would be thanks to the germans . Fiat hasnt had time to screw it all up yet .:grin::grin:

Just picked up my 2013 f150 Crew Cab w/ Ecoboost---MADE IN DEARBORN, MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to say, but I'm not a Mopar guy through and through. I'm probably the buyer that Fiat/Chrysler are looking for, but the only car I'd buy would be the Challenger. Other than that, pre-1975 for me.

Saw this imaginary 1967 Viper rendered on FB at MyMopar- now THAT'S what I'm talking about!

Like most everything else the govt is the biggest problem. Look at the metro "vommit" my dad drove them for years getting 55mpg and now you can't find hardly anything that gets that mileage all because it doesn't meet they're critieria. As for the new Chrysler's, piss on them I can't get past the fact that they took our money in the bailouts. I would buy a Ford if I were to buy a brand new vehicle just because they did it on they're own and I don't even like the Fords. I guess I'll keep buying wrecks until they get it together. My last wreck was a 07 Aspen 5.7 "love it" that thing has everything.
