4850 RPM seems to me to be low for your max horsepower. I am hoping my combo will have near the same results. My intentions were to have a torque engine rather than RPM power.Don't have the recipe handy. Dyno was before NGK's, cut outs, and MSD work. Rev limiter chip at 5 grand. I prefer it in the basement anyway and would keep the exact specs next time.
It is a 440 stock short block.. 516 closed chanber heads using steel shim head gaskets . Heads shaved just enough to be true. Math says it is about 9.5:1 comp. ratio. Heads have the larger exhaust valves in them and little stronger valve springs. stock rockers. No porting. Intake is Edelbrock rpm performer dual plane with about 3/4" open center spacer. Carb is 750 double pumper Holley. Cam is unknown Summit, lift approx .475 on intake and exhaust. Lobes look like the have some duration to them. Exhaust manifolds are 68-69 roadrunner-GTX. Distributor is rebuilt- single points with stock type coil. I have never had it to 4500RPM yet, and wondering if Max h.p. and torque will be in the 4500-5500RPM range?........................MO
