First I had street tires and wheels, and while they were good tires I was chewing them up at the track. So I went with wide wheels/tires for the track, but needed something for the street.

I found that the Nitto NT555 G2 has a lot of sizes and choices, and that gave me the wide tired I wanted for the reat and a narrower tire for the front. I continue to use Weld Racing for the wheels, a great all-around choice.

See my review here: Weld Racing and Nitto Tire review

Nice article, I'm running the NT555 G2's on the front (255/45r18) along with Nitto NT05's on the rear (295/45r18). Great tires.

Simple terms;
27x10r18 front
28.5x11.6r18 rear

My head starts spinning when I see others paying $500-$1,000/ea wheel and I'm over here paying only $169/ea wheel because they're made for a Ford. :popcorn2:

Yeah, I normally wouldn't spend that on wheels, but I've bought wheels that were a couple hundred bucks and was very limited on sizes/backspacing. Once you get into a wheel that offers these choices, you're starting to get into the $300+ range. Mine are 18-inch wheels, and 10.5 inches wide, so they are up there.

On one of my other cars, I had what I thought were decent wheels, but the runout was evident. Weld makes an incredible wheel, and they do have lower pricing on smaller sizes... 18x10.5 is a good sized wheel!

Great size wheel, I'm running 18x10's on the rear (6.3" backspacing / 22mm offset). Still only $169/ea from LMR. :thumbsup: I believe I had to run a Baer .375" spacer to provide adequate leaf spring clearance. I just didn't want to pay the custom prices if a wheel were to get damaged.

Any idea how much those Weld's weigh? I know these were 25# ea. so that may be where you are getting a large advantage in reduced unsprung weight.

One thing I didn't do was weight them, but I can probably get that from them. One thing that sold me on these wheels is when I put a go pro on my strut rod aimed at the wheel. Watching it spin and seeing the shadow cast across the inside lip not fluctuate at all was insane... I mean, no imperfections at all in the rim. It actually made it to part of Weld's video ... I sent it to one of the guys there and then later I saw a video they did and that part had been added.

They are pricey, but gorgeous wheels.

Totally agree.

It's pretty funny when the first comment to your article is someone telling you how they prefer 15's :rolleyes:
I think what I found odd about it is that he said he likes it to look original, but then he wants to put a 275/60-15 tire on it. I didn't think that was "original" LOL
