Wheel decode help

found these codes on a steel wheel off the charger M46 12 1 21 then a pentastar symbol Can any 1 help decode these these numbers thanx

M4 is manufacture code 6 should mean year ie 1976 12 * 21 should be month / day, assuming you mean a space by the 1 digit.
Post a photo of valve stem. plus if there is a pentastar it means it is a post 1970 wheel and should have a partnumber on edge of rim hidden by valvestem.

Bottom line this is incorrect wheel for a 66 charger. you need a 14x5.5 deep dish wheel, 9" button nub diameter, and should have 5 * 5 stamped on wheel. Charger wheels are different than the wheels that came on Coronets and Belvederes.

its marked m46 in 2 places near the stem and flat part between the lugnut holes also on lugnut pat on otherside theres a capital C

This is what I want you to look for.

Bottom line is these wheels will just rollers for you until you get correct wheels for your hemi car. Nothing else will do than Correct wheels.

They are just rollers as the 1s on the car were so weather rotted . There are 15 inchers on the rear havnt looked for any numbers/codes on them as of yet ....

66 charger wheel

Here is a photo of a 66 charger 14 x 5.5 wheel. notice 9" center, deep dish for wheelcover. stamped 5 5 at valve. Not like the 68+ variations.

I was researching how to decode Mopar steel wheels, and I came upon your post. My dilemma is, the restoration expert I am using lost, discarded, or used on another project, the original wheels for my 1967 Plymouth Hemi GTX. I now have nothing to investigate for part number, wheel width, button nub diameter, or lug hole configuration. I am sure they were 14 inch diameter, with 4.5 inch lug hole configuration. I believe the wheels had a 5.5 inch width and button nub diameter of 10 inches. I also believe the part number I need is [FONT=&amp]2298523.[/FONT]

Are you able to confirm any of the specifications listed? Thank you for any assistance.

1967 wheels for the high performance cars of GTX or R/T have a rather unique appearance compared to most wheels dated October of 1966 and earlier. They are 14 x 5.5 for all engines, have the 10" button nub size and usually have only ONE guide hole between the lugs. They also have the letter 'L' stamped on the right of the valve hole. See my attached photos. I know of two GTX's that came with wheels with 5 guide holes between lugs, so like anything about wheels, factory and vendor variances occur. Again Chargers came with different wheels, which were deep dish.
