I have a 69 sattelite 2dr with stock tubs. I’m wanting to get more meat on the ground in the back without having to tub the car. I’m looking to get 26 or 28” drag radials under it. Is this even possible on stock tubs? I currently have 14x8 with 4.5 backspacing. Wanting to go to a 15” for the sake of being able to find tires, but I don’t know how wide I can get or correct backspacing. I have hear you can fit a 10” wide wheel with 5.5” back spacing, is this true? Anyhow any info on fitment would be greatly appreciated. And yes it is a stock length 8 3/4 rear end.

I've had some odd wheels but none of them would I call crazy...A few have been bent though.

Yup ... no problem.
I ran 15 x 10" Centerline autodrags with a 5.25 back space with 10.5 x 28 slicks and they were perfect. When I mini tubbed it went to 15 x 12 with a 7.25 BS, great fit as well

I run 28x10.5R15 pro bracket radial on a 10"rim , 5.5"back space
To get a 30"tall 29.5x10.5R15 pro bracket radial in I spaced front spring mount back 1/4".
All with stock spring location

Reading your post reminded me of my old Dodge in the early 90's and how I made some extra room at the leaf springs. A couple of pictures to show:

I fab'd some offset front brackets. Still bolted into the stock holes. I drilled a hole on the side of the frame about 1-1/4", and fed the nut up through the factory hole underneath.

I used an offset shackle at the rear. Looked and worked great.
