1st thread and i know theres a 100 posts on this but i cant find exactly what im looking for. 67 Sattelite from what i can gather this should work for the wheel vintiques police interceptor wheels

Front: 15X7 4" BS -225/70/15
Rear: 15X8 4.5 BS - 255/60/15

Am i good to go on this? thanks in advance

well mine has 18x8 front 245 40 18 5" bs
rear is 19x10 305 35 19 5.5" bs
and i have room

so i think you will be perfectly fine

IMO a 70 and a 60 are tall tires, have you thought about a 60 front and 50 rear? looks a bit better i reckon

Thanks for the input, i was looking to fill the fender wells up, maybe a 255/70 rear to raise the stance a bit in the rear

Baron,

Those 'might' fit. A lot will play on your chosen ride height. With a torsion bar front and air shocks in the rear, mine is easy to adjust...within reason. As long as I stay relatively low with air pressure in the shocks, the car still rides nice and soft. With your proposed combo, the rear tires will be very close at the outer wheel house (about a fingers' length up inside the fenderwell) in the rear.

On my `66 (same body) I have:

Front: 15X6 4.125" BS -225/70/15
Rear: 15X7 4.25 BS - 255/60/15

Note: Edited the wheel size. I had initially listed each wheel an in wider. That was wrong.

With this setup I can just get my fingers in between the tire and outer wheel house. With less of an offest (say 5" BS vice the 4.25") the 275s would fit comfortably. That wheel can be harder to find...unless you are getting them custom made.

As for the tire height, there is less than a half inch of difference between the front and rear tires (you cannot see it by looking at the car).

That rear size looks good and I've seen those rears on a few 66's and 67's. If you want closer to the same tire height, instead of the 225/70/15, which is taller than your rear tire, I would opt for 215/70/15's which are 26.8" - 27" depending on tire manufacturer. The 255/60/15's are 27" even. I've seen 235/60/15's in front with those rears too (1 inch difference) and it looks good.

I ran 225/70/15's with 275/60/15's on my '68 Satellite and when I switched to 215/70/15's it seemed to have a little bit better steering response. Those 225/70/15's could be a little tall for the front.
