Does anyone know where the Dodge B-bodies are 1" longer than the Plymouth?
I was told the rear spring perches are mounted further back on the Dodges. I am restoring a `68 Roadrunner and in the process picked up a doner `68 Coronet. I no longer have the rear frame rails to the Dodge but I do have the full rocker assemblies from front of rear wheelhouse to rear of front wheelwell and they are identical to eachother. Including the location that the front leaf spring perch is spot welded to it. Furthermoore, if the rear leaf spring perch were mounted any further back on the rail it would extend past the end of the rail. I am looking forward to some input.
Thanks all in advance

It is my understanding that the unibodies of the Plymouth and the Dodge are the same with the exception of the mounting points of the rear spring hangers, which are mounted 1" further forward on the Plymouths. This moved the rear avle assembly which is attached to the rear springs forward 1" which created the 1" difference in the wheelbase. So yes, the rocker panels would be the sane for both cars.

I don't know if the wheel opening on the Plymouths were located further forward then on the Dodge, but I doubt it, as I believe the Dodges have a little more tire room in their wheel wells.

Incorrect. The mounting point for the hangers is the same. The hangers themselves are the difference. The Dodge front hanger is app. 1" longer than the Plymouth. I know. I gave my 69 Super Bee a "Plymouth" wheelbase to help with weight transfer.

guess this lil cat's out of the bag now

I knew it was something like that and NOT a difference in the unibody. Thanks for the clarification, I hope it helps the originasl poster.

The "hanger" is the part that is bolted to the front leaf spring perch that the front of the spring is attached to, correct?. There is nothing different at the rear because the shackles will find there own angle? and this all acounts for the less than 5/8" longer drive shaft for the Dodges?.
Thanks for the info, keep it coming.
