We were all hanging out at the tower at National Trail Raceway today while waiting on a rain delay, and someone asks, when did they quick making Firestone Drag Slicks? No one could give a good solid answer. Does anyone know???

Here you go Larry. How is the turn out down there?

Originally marketed as Firestone, Phoenix Drag Racing was launched in the mid-1990's when several executives at Firestone chose to break away and re-launch the specialty drag racing tire brand. The company was created and product was developed using the same foundations of performance, trust and technology that supported Firestone's drag racing division for years. With Coker Tire's support and guidance in 2008, Phoenix Racing Tires has plans to reach new heights of brand awareness, distribution and market share within the performance tire division.

Turn out at the Chrysler Power Classic wasn't too bad considering the occasional shower that we were getting.. I picked up a brand new set of M/T 31 x 13.5 race slicks for Ray Christian's Hemi Cuda for $320 at the swap meet.. The old Firestones will be replaced. A lot of top quality cars showed up and I am sure the weather kept a lot away. Magazine people were there, a group of production people were doing a documentary on the ways and life styles of Mopar people, some big name commercial vendors were there, and people were taking pictures and carrying a tone of parts. And thanks for the info on Firestone slicks !
