I'm not taking my blower off yet.yah know what they say "It's got more in it"! was down checking the docks and water level this morning, taco eyeballing that 10lb. otter on the dock, wouldn't dare let him loose!

There is snow on the ground in WI yet.
According to the robin rule, we have one more snow yet. They must get snowed on 3 times once they return from their winter migration. We have only had two so far.
I doubt the third will stick, too far along going into April now but we have had snow in May before. I was really hoping for an early spring with the great lakes being mostly open this winter, but alas long stretches of north winds this last month has kept snow on the ground and the lake water cool.

We need 3 weeks of sunshine and SW winds!

So I expect it will be almost May before I need to mow this year. A pity, because until we are done with snow and get a couple good rains to wash things down, I can't get anything out for the salt. People are starting to get some serious cabin fever too.

Got the mower ready today and I'll be doing the first mow of the season tomorrow. I always mow from the 23rd to 28th of March.

In a few weeks it requires mowing every 4-days through mid May. Then I can't wait for it to get hot to reduce the frequency to 7-10 days between mows.

South FL so I never completely stop, but frequency drops in the winter if it stays dry and cool. Most of our 5 acres is wooded so I only have to mow maybe an acre around the house and driveway.

Can't see the yard from the street and we don't have a sprinkler system so I don't worry much about what grows. It's currently a mixture of St. Augustine, various field grasses or grass-like weeds and outright weeds. Doesn't look too bad as long as it's all the same height.

We've had a dry winter - actually drought level. Haven't mowed in 3 or 4 weeks, but it's due after rain last night. It usually rains a lot in the summer and then I have to mow weekly to keep it from getting too deep.

When I was living in Coon Valley for a project I was on in 2016/2017 it snowed in May.

Just add crawfish "towers" and that's a close example of the "stuff" growing in the 1½" of topsoil, over a foot of clay...
When the H2 Hummer sporting original model but new BF Goodrich H2-specific tires got STUCK in my "damp" yard, the clay content really made itself known.
