So the bulkhead connectors and glove compartment fuse box was lost somewhere back in the 70s and I'm doing some new wires for everything I ran into a problem. Can't come up with a good looking way to place the new fusebox and the relays.

Fusebox is this one:

And relay box is this one:

I could place it in the glove box again - but then I need wires going through the firewall, behind the engine, along one of the fenders and to the headlights, radiator fan and vacuum pump (placed under battery tray) and I'd like to keep the number of wires in the bay at minimum.

Need some suggestions on how to place it or what to change. One idea I have is to build a new battery tray which folds up over the inner wheel fender and mount them behind the battery but I don't know. I'm out of ideas. Help me out guys!

I mounted my fuse box in the glove compartment, ran the headlight wiring threw flexible conduit under the front fender, ran engine compartment wiring threw the firewall right behind the intake (out of sight) and mounted the relays for the headlights on the radiator support (still need to make a panel to hide them). It's always best to mount as many of the relays and fuses where it's dry and not being baked. Interesting looking fuse block?

I was hoping that I could stay away from going through all the wires under the dash - if it works why fix it and save a complete re-wire kit for the total respray I'm planning in three or four years from now. But I guess you're right - it's better to start looking where the cables come from and do it properly...

Fuses are the mini ANL type and the box is protected from some splash so it should be fine to mount under the hood..

Lol, things turn quickly here - I found a guy locally (how big are the odds??) that sells a 21 circuit painless kit. I'll just do that and do it the way it's supposed to be done in the first place.

Good deal, I went with a 21 circuit American Auto kit and really liked it. Enjoy

I built my own. The wires run thru the right frame rail. Relays should be placed next to device they are powering. Mine are on the motor plate.
