I've opted for the old school look
of rear tail lights but my son,
who's helped a lot with this build,
likes a more resto style. I can make
provisions to where he can install
any type of light he wishes in the
future.
In the process of building, I've tried
to keep it as close to a traditional
hot rod as I could, trying to
maintain more of a sleeper look.
What's your vote?

Or this?: (not mine).

Bare in mind, the rear isn't finished
yet as far as a rear bumper is
concerned.
Thanks for your input.

Your top pic is what I would want if it was mine.

I have never much cared for the roll pans put under the beds of these old pickups. I prefer an old style bumper, or nothing at all except exhaust pipes.

Make sure they are LED lights and add a center brake light somewhere visible. Call it investment protection. Those itty bitty old style lights are not enough for todays drivers to notice. You wouldn’t be the first old car guy to have his car wrecked in a rear ender.

Are there any other custom body mods? If not, I’d be inclined to stay with stock style tail lights…

Old school for me, of those two choices.

If "custom" is required, I'd do something more along the lines of this:

Or if small is a requirement, these are tidy - just make sure they're BRIGHT:

...I just prefer lights up higher, for that "investment protection" theory!

Old school for me also.
I have a nice set of glass Plymouth script lenses that would look good on a plymouth truck

I like the lights set into the roll pan better. I would remove the large clear back up lamps and use a tail / stop light that has a small back up light lens in the assembly.
