I need to replace some crappy wiring in my 69 Coronet so I am going to order up an M&H engine harness from YearOne. (only because I have read M&H stuff is really good)

Where I need help is figuring out which one I need. My 69 Coronet has a 340 with Mopar style electronic ignition but was originally a 318.

Do I go with the:
318 Coronet Harness
340 Dart Harness
383/440 Coronet Harness

None of the pictures are helpful.

How should I go about figuring this out?

I would be inclined to go with the 318 B Body harness although I don't really think there's a difference between big or small block when it comes to the engine harness.

I would go with the one for the 318 only because the bulkhead will match. If there are any mods to be done on the harness to fit another size motor it shouldn't be that difficult.
HU181BM is what I would order but if you have doubts you can contact M&H http://www.wiringharness.com

Yes, get the 318 b body one, HU181BM mentioned above, dart one is a body and will have a different plug as mentioned above. The small block harness is different than the big block harness with regards to wire lengths, coil and dist in back on small block vs front for big block.

That would be it. I knew I was overlooking something obvious.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the thought around this.

Harness HU181BM is set up to use a 4 prong ballast resistor as well so that will be needed for the installation. The rest of the electronic ignition plugs should be already wired into place for plug and play.

this is good because I have a 4 prong resistor.

Just noticed an issue with the 318 harness. The pic on YearOne shows a white bulkhead connector. My bulkhead connectors are black.

Both the 340 and 383/440 harnesses have black bulkhead connectors.

Guess I just need to call M&H

Yea, being as it is a non stock replacement they are not black like original. You could always switch your old connector to the new wiring? also I mentioned above that it requires a 4 prong ballast, which you said was good, because you already had it. Reading the description on YO, I forgot to mention that it uses the 70 and later style alternator and voltage regulator. If you dont want to get those items as well, I would just order a stock replacement harness and wire the electronic ignition into it.

Is the silver box the regulator you are talking about?

Also, I wouldn't mind switching over to a MDS box. If that also changes things up.

Yep, looks like you are already set up for the 70 style ignition. If you are going to go with MSD, I would just order the stock harness then. The ballast resistor becomes obsolete when you go to MSD.
