hi guys. does anybody know what intake manifold is correct for my dads 69 super bee with a 440 and the n96 ram charger hood? we are thinking 2806178 but we are not sure. any ideas?

Well technically it would have to be a six pack intake if the Bee came with a 440 originally. But a correct 1969 440 intake is casting 2806178. If you need one I have several if you want a certain date code.

thanks for the response! this was originally a 383 car with the ramcharger hood. we are putting a 440 in it since the 383 wasnt numbers matching anyways. we have the correct fresh air oval air cleaner with the 440 4bbl base. we just wanted to make sure that the intake 2806178 would have the right height to meet up with the gasket when the hood was shut. do you think 2806178 would be correct height?

I had that intake on a 426 wedge w/edelbroxk carb in my Bee w/the fresh air hood. It fit perfect

Let me know how much clearance you have when she is all put together. The 440 wasn't available with the n96 option.

does anybody know the correct holley carb used on the 69 bee with a 4 speed?

At least on '70 N96 hoods, you can use any factory cast-iron 440 intake with probably 1" hood clearance to spare as long as you have the correct 440 N96 base. I'm betting you don't have too much room to play with on a '69 either.

Just my 2-cents..... if it cannot be a "numbers matching" car, then why worry about numbers? I would just find a cheap stock intake that had the correct carb pattern (square bore/spread bore) for the carburetor I already had and run it.

When I ran a 750 vac. secondary Holley on my motor with a 383/340 N96 base (only 1/2" clearance) I had some minor carb to manifold clearance problems where some of the throttle shafts extend outside the throttle plate of the carburetor. I ground down one piece on the carburetor & took maybe 1/8" off the side of a stock cast-iron intake and it bolted right on.

69 Bee with 383 4 speed is a Carter is 4615s, a 69 440 4 speed Coronet R/T would be Carter 4617s

I owned a 69 coronet R/T in 1972. It was a fresh air hood with a 440 six pack. 4spd; Yes you read that right 440 six pack. You know the option only available in a super bee with the lift off hood. The R/T was ordered new at Berk's dodge dealer in Whitehall Pa.
My son eventually ended up working at the dealer in 2002. Nathan Berk remembered the car . "small world" The car came in with the 440-4bbl with the fresh air hood. The Six pack motor came complete and was dealer installed. The Motor had a cast iron intake and the fresh air hood fit the car perfect. It was a six pack motor but in a 4bbl car.

I still have the title for the car. It was stolen in 1973 along with my 70 swinger. Replaced them with a 69 340 swinger and a 68 Roadrunner. The Roadrunner had a dealer installed 440. You could get what ever you wanted back then. That is why numbers don't mean a thing to me. I lived the era as the only son with a dad that was into Chrysler 300's.

His friend bought a Hemi Roadrunner that was painted black at the dealer. They put big white PLYMOUTH emblems on the Quarters to help it sell. he got it cheaper then a 318 car. I drove many cars. It was always hey kid take it for a ride let me know what you think.

At one point I was buying GTO's and Firebirds. 60's cars. But Then "On the Eighth day god created the 340" and I was in heaven. Finally a car that I could scream and it would take it. Have not been without one since. 71 to date and always had at least one to drive. No matter what you like as a performance car. You need a 340. Not having one is like going through life without sex.

If my wife would smash my 340 the first place I would go is the tow yard. Then I'd call to check on her.
