On the left is a new Mopar spring from year One. On the right is what originally was on the car. Which one is correct?

Is that a spring that goes on a drum brake assembly? The 'new' one looks twisted in the upper coils.

Ok, so i am not crazy and Yes, the new ones are twisted, which i didnt think was right. Another fine part from Year One! LOLOL Yes, this is for the parking brake lever on 11 inch drums.

Interesting converstation with Year One, and they swear the twist was added to the spring because it takes the place of the pig tail to keep the spring from rotating, which it cant even with out the pig tail, because its an oval spring. Any, not worth fighting with them over a dollar or two, so call Jims auto parts, and they have both styles, and the twisted ones are much more expensive from them, but the ones with a pig tail a just a few bucks. So, this all makes wonder if Year one is crossing applications with this part, and its really for another style of brake lever and not all 11" drums. Why does rebuilding a car have to be a battle!!!!! hahahahahaha

Thought I had a few laying around....but doesn't it just keep the lever from rattling? Does it really matter what one you use? If you plan on showing the car, no one is going to pull your brake drums off to check......

I think you can get all the proper brake components from P.S.T. at a very realistic price. We have used parts from them over many years and have always been very satisfied with their products and service. Also they offer members of this site a discount.

I've also have done business with PST and have never had a problem. Many years ago, Year One pissed me off and haven't bought anything from them since and that was back in the late 80's....
