While everybody else is grousing about the snow

I'm writing this staring out the window at my 88 year old neighbours driveway packed with over a foot of snow... I did mine 4 times since yesterday to stay ahead of the game! She has 7 children and oodles of Grandchildren all capable of coming to do it but I anticipate I'll jut cave in and go do it with my snowblower like I always do!

Let'er rip oral-B! Happy trails!

I'd go, but if you break down around here, you'll probably die! Ridiculous!

I ride the trails & lakes with my family. Because of (the ocasional) yahoos out there, we have safety lights & helmut radios. Also, I really don't ride too fast on the winding trails because you just never know what's around the corner.

I hear you, a bit embarrassed to say.......... Sonny had an event with one... & just was lucky.

Just finished trouble shooting the geo thermal unit. compressor keeps kicking off. after about a half hour and a call to an HVAC friend, looks like I have a frozen discharge line. have never had that happen at my old house. open loop system both there and here. I think when the power went out this morning the line froze which has a low point less than 3 feet deep. we bought this house three years ago and I have no idea how they did the install. clearly not deep enough or large enough to avoid a freeze before it dumps into the pond. We'll run on aux heat and i'll plumb a dump into the sump pump until it thaws later in the week.... what a day... oh well, we have heat and beer...

Negative 23 for the 2nd straight morning. But i'll take it any day over the 90 degree heat.

It's 30 degrees and an overnight of 5 degrees. Schools are delayed 2 hours today and tomorrow. Now that is some funny stuff. Nice to be in Georgia.

Whaddayamean? I released this one quite a while ago.......

It is hard to imagine you went from the picture above to the new picture in the fur hoodie in such a short period of time. The contacts and "teeth in a day" have worked wonders for you!

19 degrees in Jacksonville, FL this morning and I am hiding under a blanket all day.

Could be worse....

Nice Pics R.C. Where is that? looks like a ski hill or Power line.
I tried my hand at the sledding thing a couple of years ago again and found that it is just not the same. At least in the U.P. and northern Wisconsin. Everywhere you go, signs telling you to "stay on trail" Freelancing in the powder is some of the most fun you can have. Some of my most favorite places have been roped/fenced off from access because apparently the summer toy vehicles were causing too much erosion. I was very disappointed.

Open question for the forum and to those particularly from the northern midwest:
When does it officially get "bitterly" cold?
I mean is there a sliding scale somewhere that weathermen use to describe us how cold it really is???

Maybe something like this

Down to 45....Cool
44 to 10........Cold
9 to -10........Very Cold
-11 to -20.....Bitterly Cold
-20 to -35....You Gotta Be Kidding Me
-35 and colder....WTF

your a good man, I commend your efforts... I would do that too... I do my elderly Aunt & Uncles up the hill from me, 2000 ft more elevation at-least 5000ft, where it snows allot more than it does at my house usually, up in Twain Harte all the time too...

Wow, that Ski-Doo looks 50 years old, Propwash.

Just messin Photon....That sled is a bit too vintage for my taste. Did use to have one slightly newer I used for Ice fishing back in the day.

This one better?:
