Has anyone ran a low comp b block with a whiplash cam and sidewinder heads? If so, how did it perform? I currently have a 400 bored.030 with flat top pistons, performer rpm intake, Holley 750dp, and headers. Was considering the whiplash cam and changing the stick heads to sidewinders

Guess you did not like the answers over at dodgecharger.

I think you've already made up your mind and your looking for someone to approve. It'll be fine. Just think you could do better.

Whiplash cam is more for sound than performance. I’d think that a 750 double pumper might be a bit much for that engine you have there.

flat top pistons but how far down the hole
what is your true compression ratio
stick or auto
what rear end and how do you like to drive

Good questions. But we can probably assume one thing for sure. It's a 400 - it has 7.8:1 c.r. If he got the E Street 75 cc heads, and milled them down to 70 ccs, he would be at 9.2:1 c.r. No matter what your goals are, this is a no brained in my opinion..

For the cam, it would be helpful to know what he is wanting in engine's characteristics and street manners.

all the details please
are these rebuilder cast pistons- if so your compression could be even less- especially if you or whoever installed thick composition gaskets
make a good choice on thin gaskets
do you know your piston part number?
