Any Cypress in your neighborhood?

We are getting storms here with anywhere from 1/4 inch to an inch in 15 minutes to an hour… Very spotty. We needed the rain as we couldn’t buy a rain drop 2 weeks ago… EVERYTHING is lush here and the humidity is off the charts.

Being a Californian, I'm used to heat in the Summer, comfortable in the Fall, some rain in the Winter and Spring, some cold in the Winter and a mix in the Spring. When I hear of Summer rain, my mind just can't comprehend it at all. It rarely ever rains here from late May to November.

We just had a thunderstorm pass through and it dumped a ton of rain…my rain gutters were overflowing with so much rain. I’m just west of DFW area.

To add some clarity to Kern Dog's post... This is historical rainfall totals for Modesto Ca....

We've had at least a week of either solid or intermittent rain.....it is winter though. Having said that, I don't recall this much rain in recent years.

The city better not tell us there is a water shortage this coming summer. :mob:

Sorry no pictures this time. But here's a little song I like....

Yup, looks like we may finally be out of it tomorrow. I am under water just like you Mike.

Grass is green and nothing is dry. We had some pretty hard rains and the pond is running out the overflow, this time of the year it's usually browner. It's all good.

Rained most of this week with heavy downpours and t storms! Been enough rain on a regular basis, that I still have to mow about every 4 days.. usually I can go a week or 2 this time of year!

Like KD we are dry here in NW Nevada. We do get an occasional heavy shower in the late afternoon and early evening and a downpour for maybe 1/2 hour or so. I mean it is a downpour with blowing wind. The only thing I worry about is the lightning strikes for the thunder and lightning as oftentimes we will get what looks like a good storm, only to just rumble and lightning events. Mostly cloud to cloud but a lot of ground strikes which will start a fire almost immediately. My Brother now residing in Middle TN, has been getting hammered daily now for the past 2 weeks and more for the next 2 weeks. He says that his spread's grass is flourishing and needs a cut...1 acre...but way too wet to do so as most likely the lawn tractor will sink into the soft earth...cr8crshr/Bill :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

78 degrees sunny light NW wind and dewpoint in the 50's today.

Take a guess if I went to work today?
