Who all streams TV and who do you use?

Been sorta looking at FUBO or Sling. Will most likely have to up my internet speed too? My modem is on one end of the house so will have to use some sort of a repeater or amplifier? I don't know beans about streaming TV shows etc but want to get away from Direct TV real soon. Their freaking prices have gone through the roof! Also have a TV out in the shop that's probably around 75 feet from my modem...

Don't you guys get "Free to air" TV services at all?

We get around 35 Channels of free to air TV here.... and then we can choose to buy add-ons like 'Sky TV' and Netflix plus all the other internet services.

I pay about $15/month for 2-user Netflix service here. I refuse to get Sky TV again due to their pricing (and ownership) - and I also am holding out against all the other Pay-per-view services because of what they represent.

I only succumbed to Netflix during the dark days of the 'Vid as the alternative was 24hr non-stop broadcasts from our Fuehrer in Chief with horse teeth telling us to be nice to others and wash our hands.

YouTube and Roku , YouTube for sports mostly and Roku for things like Prime,Netflix and more. Either way you pay !

I had Spectrum and then went to YoutubeTV which has been good. I do rotate around some other streaming things such as Hulu, Disney, Paramount+ and peacock to add more variety. With these I watch for good deals such as around black friday where you can get them for like a buck or two a month or do the short trials.

Also make sure to take advantage of free services like Tubi, Roku, Pluto, and Amazon (you might need amazon prime?).

It all depends on what you like to watch. I will also add that just about every paid service will increase prices on you.

I have an antenna in my attic, I tied it into the splitter the cable used to feed and get 32 channels over the air. Watching the Eagles game right now, free. I have Netflix and subscribe to MLB.tv during the baseball season. All is way cheaper then cable or the $90 a month streaming services.

I will also add that just about every paid service will increase prices on you.

Netflix recently had a purge where they started clamping down on those who were cheating their system....and fair play to them for doing that.

It's the cheaters who ruin stuff for everyone.....the same as thieves ruin everything.

One of our free channels is currently playing the NFL play-off games. Not much of a delay from when the games were played either.

Back in the old days of two channels, a film cannister had to be sent by airmail to our country to get the latest content for playing over the air.

My GF got us Fubo and it's awesome for sports. I like forensic and cold case also and it's always on. I'm not sure what she pays for it.

I call Dish every year when the introductory contract price is going to be raised, say I can't afford it and will have to leave, and what can they do? They ask me to hold and then come back on and extend the price for another year. Been doing this for 5 years so far....

You could try that.

I do that with Sirius XM. I like my music, it's on 90% vs 10% of the time for TV.

I called and did that for years and they finally told me this year they will no longer try and get the crazy price renewal. I am locked in at something $127yr and there will be no need to call and ask for the introductory rate it will be billed at that price... I have it on my phone too so I can blue tooth my music while out in the bay or on a lake...

Antenna in the attic and Tablo tied into our Wi-Fi brings all live over the air broadcasts to all smart tv’s with the ability to record as well as stream. This gives us 66 channels broadcast and 80 channels that Tablo streams. Then we use Prime video ($9 per month) for great movies. Freevee, Plex and Peacock are our most used apps (all free). Of course, Peacock given to us free with our $139 per month high speed internet (includes a $20 per month landline). Dropping cable TV saves us $200 per month.

That's a great price if you can keep getting that! Mine plan was like $330-350 a year if I didn't do the promotional price...

You Tube TV for me. It seems to work well. We became WNBA fans following Caitlin Clark and we can view almost every game. That runs (I see it bumped up to $83/month)
I have the tv here in the kitchen and the one in the upstairs bedroom hooked to a couple of those $20 flat antennas that get's 29 local broadcast channels. (Free)

I used You Tube TV for a while since it includes the local stations. Once I got the antenna in the attic dialed in I canceled it. I do add it every October for their 30 day free trial to watch the baseball playoffs then cancel. LOL

We have optimum but this Friday l discovered we had lost some channels that carry news by nexstar media. Also MSM, News Max are gone.

We're now looking for something else that will gives us our local news, world news as well as the history channel.
