I want to replace my brakes hoses with something that looks close to original. Couple places on EBAY, one in MI. (Brake hoses unlimited) that seems alright. Just trying to tap into other peoples experiences good or bad..........
I'm not doing a concourse restoration, just looking to keep close to original look as I can.
Thanks for your replies!!!

You will never find OEM NOS flexible brake hoses unless you are lucky and especially with the correct dates stamped in them...No one reproduces a close to original line. The one GC pointed out is your next best choice...

I thought your car was low miles original? Are they cracked/dry rotted and leaking?

.....Dont buy into that shows nonsense

Master cylinder is bad, drifting to the floor again.......the fluid is contaminated from sitting alot, needs to be flushed. Hoses are original so why not replace them as I go through the brake system. The shoes are fine last time I checked, I will check to see if wheel cylinders are leaking and replace those if needed. Maybe replace the brake hardware when I re-assemble? Just want it to be safe and stop....I'll keep the original lines as I have with every other part that I replaced over the decades.

Definitely do not get rid of those hoses but no one yet restores them.....The MC can be rebuilt and sleeved(stainless steel) and you will not have to worry about that again and the same goes for the wheel cylinders. Just spend the extra and be a one and done with the MC and WC.

Probably look in Hemmings to find a place that does that type of service. I do still have what I believe is the original MC pulled from the car decades ago so, that's actually a good idea......this was a rebuilt one on the car from years ago that is now bad.
I am trying to keep things original as possible so not to devalue the car...................

That car won't devalue...especially since your keeping all removed parts..

Here is where I sent mine...

I think I may get the hose set from them..........If Graveyard carz uses them, they must be alright...thanks for the tip!

The Graveyard Clownz are for entertainment only and not to be confused with actual OEM restorations. There is some talent there but they are mostly just bolting on re-pop parts. Like moparnation74 stated in post #7, save your old parts and rebuild what original parts you have. I use inlinetube for my restorations because they are the next closest thing to OEM. When I find someone, someday who restores original brake hoses, those re-pop hoses will get replaced with the originals...

I have just recently started looking into the parts as supplied by Master Power Brakes out of Mooresville, NC. We have been using Fine Lines and Right Stuff depending upon the needs and applications. But the Master Power Brakes pieces are more correct for the hoses and for people looking to do more correct disc brake conversion and not using the GM pieces that the other vendors supply, then Master Brakes looks to be a better alternative. You will have to call them as the web site is limited on what they show.

I was satisfied with what I bought from NAPA. They aren't gold anodized but the hoses are grooved like the original and the ends are very close. A part like this can always be swapped out for a more factory piece whenever you want. As far as useing NOS, I wouldn't trust them because of their age. JMO

Once you get everything flushed and replaced, use DOT 5 synthetic fluid. It's the greatest thing since sliced bread!

I haven't used them personally but know many that have used them. I will be using them when I need brakes in the future
They did my MC and WC and the proportioning valve for the GTX....100% pleased

That's who I know had done. If I need brake lines, I might look into stainless steel

Agreed....last thing you want is a beautifully restored car and parts to have a natural steel line rusting somewhere. Always happens in areas where you cannot easily get into....If a judge wants to deduct for that so be it. I will easily accept that point or half point...
