We have a little old-time restaurant down the road from us called Grumpy's. They serve breakfast and lunch every day, and it's old-time diner fare and flair. They are always packed on the weekends, and they have a huge parking lot to accommodate the crowds and it fills up fast. There's one spot right in front of the place that's not really a parking spot. It's a cement pad that people will park on when the lot is full, but mostly the people who park on it are the ones with the cool cars, and the staff likes them parking there because everyone driving up or down the street can see the cool car sitting there, which draws attention to the restaurant. Needless to say, I always park my Roadrunner there, and it always gets a lot of attention from the folks inside and people driving by.

So, yesterday, we're getting ready to head over there and my son calls me. He says someone must be calling me out because there's an orange Superbird parked where I always park. Sadly, by the time Mrs. Bruzilla got ready to go, and we finally got there, the Superbird was gone. After breakfast we went up to Publix and two people up there asked if a show was going on today because they had also seen the Superbird at Grumpy's.

So, whoever it was who brought their Superbird to Grumpy's on Sunday, please let me know if you're coming next weekend so I'll know to get there early so I get my spot. :)

one uped by a superbird.if its gotta happen might as well be by one of those.:headbang:

I used my 71 340 Cuda as a daily driver. It had a dented left front fender, plenty of scratches in the original Sassy Grass paint and the bill boards were full of cracks but it still drew a lot of attention where ever I took it. Always tried to park it in the best parking spots. It was a survivor and was all original except for the custom made 15x8 rear rallye wheel and 275-60's. Wish I had never sold it! Bought it in 86 for 2500 bucks and it had a rebuilt engine and trans....kept it for 15 years.

I had no idea there was even a Superbird in the area. There's a red 68 or 69 Roadrunner that I see from time to time, and a PCP 73 Roadrunner that used to be down in Fleming Island but I haven't seen for a while, but this was the first report of a Superbird. I'm hoping the guy shows up next weekend as I would like to see if it's the car I passed on in 1985... provided he parks in his own spot. :)

At least it wasn't a steenking Chiv-o-lay or Ferd on that pad!

There was a very early Corvette on there this morning, but there's nothing special about parking there on a weekday.

Sounds like a fun place to hang out & go to breakfast or lunch, tell Mrs. Bruzilla to get ready at least an hour before you "really" want to leave, than she will be on time maybe... it use to work for me... sorry no offense intended to Mrs. Bruzilla... Bruzilla you know you will need to take photos every week now & post them up...LOL...

Last week was pretty funny there. We drove past a deputy sheriff shooting radar about 200 feet up the road from Grumpy's. After we had parked and gone inside to eat, into the parking lot pulls a Pontiac Sunfire with the deputy right behind him. The kid driving the Pontiac pulled in right in front of where I was parked, and the deputy got out and started walking towards the Pontiac but kept looking at our Roadrunner.

A few minutes later some other customers were checking out, and saw the cop standing over by the Roadrunner, and one of them said "that guy should know he's sure to get a ticket driving around in a car like that!" The hostess who knows us said "Oh, that Plymouth is their car (pointing to my wife and I). The guy getting the ticket is in the car in front of them." The other lady then said "so why is the cop looking over at their car?", and the hostess just said "for the same reason every other guy sitting in here looks at it." I just busted up laughing when she said that.

Not really on topic, but I've seen a B5 72-74 Challenger and a FC7 70 Super Bee within 2 miles of my house, each on two occasions.

I've never seen either of these cars at any local shows or cruise nights. Odd.

Time to call Willie Coyote and have him bring some Acme TNT..........

That's why I'm hoping the guy with the bird comes back next weekend. Then maybe some other Mopar owners will see our cars and want to stop by.

Yeah. I'd really like to catch the Bee owner, as there's a chance (although slim) it's my old car.

Just how many 70 Super Bees are there around here, anyway?

(We do have a very disproportionate number of Deloreans- I can think of 9 in this county, including THE red one)
