I don't have too much of the
hoarding tendencies
I do have a box of Mandrel J & U bends, several hundred $$s worth
in my spare bedroom still in the box under a coffee table
so they won't rust or oxidize out in the garage, or me trip over them
while I procrastinate on, what I'm doing or going to build a set of headers...
I don't have a wife, but don't do most of that stuff anyway,
but I do have
my 86 y/o dad with all his collection crap & nicknacks,
who lives with me too
A bunch of "junk", he won't part with, old cheap furniture,
boxes of junk, from 2 houses/2 ex-wives ago, boxes & boxes,
he keeps moving along & he never looks at, that stuff
& too much old clothes filling his room & spare room 2
of the 3-1/2 (mine & hall 1/2 closet aren't full) closets we have...
(a lot of it, clothes are too big for him now)
Taking up any of the lil' storage I do have...
I really, really try not to be a "typical car guy" that stores a bunch of
cars ****
or hoards too many parts & fills the house/s & garage full of all of it,
you can't hardly get in or walk around or work,
that's just crazy ****
if I don't or haven't used it in a 5 year span,
'unless it's a take off part, with some value' or tools
it goes up for sale or more likely I give it away to someone in need...
I can't see how some guys live like that, it's your home...
Wife or not...
Yes I've had stuff in the house temporarily while building a project
but never long-term storage or hoarding parts/collection...
My attached garage is a lil' 20' x 20' attached garage
with my 68 RR & 99 Dakota in it
along with a bench & a few shelves, rolling tool boxes,
a bunch of plastic crates on or under shelves...
A bunch of stuff (parts & tools) stacked under the bench,
Roll around mig-welder & Ox/Ac bottles, generator, air compressor etc.,
with no more room to put stuff on the floor...
or into corners

I also have a 12' x 14' Tuff shed out in the back,
pretty much full of my old construction tools,
stuff for doing club fitting from my old golf pro-shop, still makes me $$$
& take-off parts from the RR, just in case 'the next' guy wants to go back to stock...
I moved here from a place where I had 5 car garages worth of storage...
Dad's boat seats & top etc. (that thing is a PITA, it's going away soon)
I've downsized considerably...
I 'gave' a ton of stuff away, my last 2 moves...
Now that I'm fully retired, I may start to get rid 'of more stuff'
(like George Carlin says "people have too much stuff")
a few old tools I have multiples of, ladders, a takedown roller scaffolding etc.
multiple styles of shovels, & duplicates, multiples of taping tools/trays,

lawn care ****, rakes, I have no lawns...
Seems every damn time I get rid of something, tools wise
then I'll need it & have to rent or buy it again
or someone I know needs it...
I'm getting at the age (64 now) I want it all gone, within reason...
So the kids don't have to deal with it...
Probably just fill that empty space with more stuff, I don't use or need...
