I've always wanted one but could never afford an A12 car. Now that I have a 69 Coronet the 6-pack just seems natural.

If you can tune a 4 barrel you can tune a 6 barrel, it's not rocket science.

I love it when some people get frustrated with them and give up. Makes them a lot cheaper for the next person.

They are just like owning a Mopar muscle car. Not everybody and their brother has one!

I would like to know the point of this thread? Is the OP asking to see how many people are will to make clones / tributes or non original cars? Yes I went there...lol

Its been on my car since before I was around ....has all the six pack internal parts like rods etc .....

I wanted the best bang for my buck and this set up was it !! MVC-043S.JPG

To me this is a pretty simple question.

The six pack is like breast implants for mopars.

I've alway liked the six-pack setup. I believe the GTX my dad had when I was a kid, had the 440 6-pack. I've alway thought it was a 68, but may have been a 69. That's the one car I wish he could have kept. Anyone see the May Mopar Muscle article on the 6-pack EFI from F & B Performance Engineered Products? Looks like a sweet setup. But it'll be pretty pricey by the time you get everything you need.

The Six Pack was not a factory option on the 69 GTX. It would have been installed after.

This thread needs the option of I have it just because I can .....

I spent 10 hours on the dyno tuning mine. It runs great, also, it made 20 more HP having the stock oval air cleaner on it than without. All the EGTs are nice and it gets 12-14 mpg. Not bad for 470hp and 545# feet of torque.

Trying to tune one of these without being on a dyno would have been a nightmare. I would never even try

Why would having the air cleaner on or off make a difference?

maybe/probably too lean with out the air cleaner element {unless it's a K&N gauze type filter or equivalent, won't hamper air flow anywhere near as much}, the restriction of the air cleaner element, may have richened/fattened it up that much too, it could have just been different relative air density changes, weather changes or temperature changes too {air quality, amount of oxygen in the room/air vs elevation, heat & humidity basically}, all items contributing or ultimately affecting the tune/HP or a combination of things, to change it that much.... But you should always tune what ever your tuning on, even when dyno-tuning, with what ever parts, that will be actually used/installed, as much as humanly possible, to duplicate/simulate your final installation combo... my $0.02 cents

Well said Bud....and that should include the type of fuel you will be running on most of the time. Too many guys Dyno the car on pump gas, then arrive at the strip and dump a load of race gas in the tank.......bye-bye Dyno money.

When a six pack set up is tuned right, they are great. But when they aren't tuned right, they can be just tons of trouble. Having owned a few, I know.

Spot on. I invented new words working on mine and I have a long way to go before it's right. You have to pull it all apart for even a simple jet change and leave the carbs loose while you reconnect all the steel lines. There is an order of carb removal and installation so you don't paint yourself in a corner.

I can't imagine that works very well at all. Not to be condescending, but those must be a fuel distribution nightmare and probably not very good at low speeds even with the mods. I have one myself but never ran it. Curious to know if it works well for you. I have an STR 14 and a hemi rat roaster and same deal with fuel distribution.

some day maybe I will have one just don't never seem to have 2500 bucks to get one.....I want one just because there bad a$$

Well MEEP-MEEP to be honest it worked very good. I redid the inside lower plenume with the inserts and it had very good street manners. ( with proper jetting and power valves)
But the car was a 4 speed with 4:56 rear gears. And alot of compression to boot !
But an automatic and tall rear gear on a mild motor?!? Your rite not the best first choice !!

that F&B Throttle Body www.fbthrottlebodies.com set up is a great set-up... I have a friend that has one on a stroked 340-6bbl {408ci}, F&B did the whole thing for about $2500 IIRC, but it was quite a few years ago now, I have at-least near that much $$$, in my 6bbl intake, carbs, air cleaner, lines etc., probably even more $$$, by the time all the mods were done...
