Why do some people drive with thier emergency flashers on when it's snowing?

As many here have stated, it's just about making yourself more visible in inclement weather, and the belief that may reduce the possibility of an accident. The OEM manufacturers have spent millions of dollars to make their autos just that, more visible. So when I see folks adding tail light covers to their trucks in order to 'customize' their vehicle to their tastes, makes me wonder how smart is that.....guess Im just getting old from all my company years of preaching/practicing safety to us.....

They must have been from the south or in the flatlands, coastal city etc.
where it rarely ever snows, instant panic, they are usually the one wrecked &
on the side of the road or in a ditch too...

No driven Ivan's, unless it's for really bad conditions & to warn people of a wreck
or something else along those lines, if they don't know how to drive on ice or snow,
maybe they'd be allot better off, if they just stayed home...
again... still

They changed it here in florida. It used to be illegal driving with flashers on. But now only if driving 55 or faster is legal with the flashers on. Below 55 you need to be pulled over and stopped. I had to check. Different laws in different states. And we're supposed to be the United States? Should be the Ununited States! Everything is getting worse.
c) During periods of extremely low visibility on roadways with a posted speed limit of 55 miles per hour or higher; and
(d) For the lamps authorized under subsections (1), (2), (3), (4), and (9), s. 316.2065, or s. 316.235(6) which may flash.

I don’t like it, now the ones driving with flashers blend in with the ones that are parked. Just recently I was driving in fairly heavy rain on the interstate and came up on a guy driving about 10 mph. I couldn’t change lanes because of traffic and just had to sit there. I put my flashers on and lay’d down on the horn. He finally got the message and pulled over. He had a light out and it appeared he had no wipers, idiot. (not youTony Tee the guy)
