Check this out! I know this will make a few of you guys gag, but I think it looks wicked cool. I'm totally going for a vintage mid-70's drag / muscle car look. I borrowed these 15x10's from a friend just to check for clearance and what not. They seem to be 3.25 inch backspacing. The slicks are 29.5x10's. My god this thing looks bad ***. The suspension is out in the front for sandblasting right now, and the rear leafs are out getting re-arched for more height. I am gonna be keeping the nose this high or maybe a touch higher. This thing just screams brutal vintage bad assery!

Excuse the dust all over the paint. It's actually a bitchin fresh Plum Crazy paint job...the pics make it look awful but it's actually cherry. Hasn't even been wet sanded or buffed out yet!

Looks like I may have to get 15x10 Cragars with 3.5 inch backspacing, instead of the 4.25 inches I was going to go with. This looks sick!

And yes, I know many of you disagree vehemently with, well, all of this!

That thing is going to be a monster! I say go for it, make it different!

MONSTER!!! Hahaha!

I'm going all out with this thing. Mickey Thompson valve covers (which a fellow member is hooking me up with), three inch exhaust, etc...

One detail that it totally going to pull it all together is two or three tastefully chosen and placed vintage drag strip and street racing stickers. I found people on Ebay actually reproducing these things! I'm thinking, since I'm originally from Long Island, NY, I'll put on one side window an Islip Dragway sticker, and on the other side window, a "Connecting Highway" sticker. That's some ruthlessly old school (and somewhat obscure) street racing stuff from the 70's. Yeah, it's all way before my time, but I believe if you're gonna do something, you do it all the way and make it pure. Otherwise, don't bother.

You will all be very pleased to know this is all happening WITHOUT air shocks or shackles, and I am replacing all the front and rear bushings, and steering parts. I'm all about ridiculous nonsense, but I want to do it safely.

I can't wait until I can put the big white Plymouth letters on the quarter panels...the kind that go on a Superbird.

My friends have already started referring to this thing as "Grape Ape"...

Beagely Beagely!

WHAT?No 12" shackles or Gabriel HiJackers or the yellow Lakewood Slapper Bars:grin:

Hahaha, nope, no 12" shackles, no Hi-Jackers. Yellow Lakewood slapper bars would be funny to put on there for appearance purposes, though they aren't exactly really high on my list of priorities.

There will also be no fuzzy dice, no glasspacks, no barefoot gas pedal, no cheap 6x9's in the back, no mudflaps, no chrome wheel well trim, no whip antennae, no C.B...we're pretty much gonna leave J.C. Whitney and his ilk out of this equation entirely.

Tell you what...how about I meet you half way? How about I put an 8 track in the dash, with a strategically placed copy of "Bat Out Of Hell" in the deck?
