Wide tires, mini tubbed need some opinions.

Having my 65 Coronet mini tubbed and Dana 60 installed, looking at about 1/2" of clearance on each side, is that going to suffice without a panhard bar to hold it more firmly? Rear will be up approx. 2" when Dana is installed which might increase clearance some, just looking for real world experience or advice.

I don't have your answer, but could you give your tire size, rim width and back spacing, flange to flange measurement? Thinking of similar mods to my 64 Savoy. Your mock up looks great. Thank you.

Some will say 1/2" is not enough, but that is all I have for the Cuda with offset springs. No issues with rubbing during street driving.
I have lots of room with the mini tubbed Belvedere, but looks like you have a bunch more tire than me.

I have 12" Stockton Police wheels (bought not coated and had powder coating done locally for $50 a piece) with 6" back spacing, Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R 29 x 15.00R 15LT tires. Sorry I do not have the flange to flange measurement at this point.

I have the same tires on 12" Billet Specialties wheels on my 63 Fury with a fabbed Moser 8.75". I relocated the springs inboard and tubbed the inners to the frame rails. I have 3/4" clearance to the springs and about 1/2" to the outer fender lips. I haven't had any problem with hitting.

You know I wondered about that but never really did any checking. Had a friend of mine (who does tires for a living) do the mounting and balancing....he did say something about it but I didn't really pay attention (my bad). The weights don't bother me but is this something I should be concerned about? Also it is the same tire in the pictures, the other one is not weighted like that.

I was just curious because I had big-0 do that to me after I specifically asked them not to put them on the outside lip. They will function fine there I just think it looks tacky lol

On my last set I painted them black which helps a little.

It may not be the nicest thing to look at, but putting the weights at the outside of the rim is the best way to get a good dynamic balance. With a rim/tire that wide I don't think I would want to only static balance it.
