66 to 72 are the same. They won't work on a 65. As Kern Dog said it puts the engine in the wrong place. You'll need a 63- 65.Will a 72 b body k memeber work on my 65 coronet. Mine is trash need another one. Thanks

I used a 70 unit for mine. It does move it back 1 1/2" or so. Uses the 67? on idler arm which mounts in a double shear instead of the bayonet bolt. You need to use the steering center link that corresponds with whatever year of K you use unless its 66-9 I believe. 70 on the sway bar goes through the K which also puts your sway link mounts in a different spot on the arms. One kicker is the 71 on K has a different steering box mount angle which is the same as the 71 on E body. Plus 71 on B & E use the same K.
It can be used but it moves the engine back. There are benefits to moving the engine back but also some pitfalls that you have to engineer around. I wouldn't move the engine back unless you know what you're doing. Probably best for you to find an original K frame. I'm sure they are out there. I have a spare that I keep on the shelf even though I most likely will never use it. Just haven't gotten around to selling it yet. Here is a comparison between early and mid B body. Will a 72 b body k memeber work on my 65 coronet. Mine is trash need another one. Thanks
Yes a 440 will mount to an early B body V8 K frame as long as you have the correct brackets.Found one ..so is there will a 440 mount right up it's a v8 k member im unfamiliar with early stuff
71-3 uses the same K as the E-body. And yes the box angle changes which makes it a necessity to use the steering center link from whatever the K is from. Not sure if it makes it an issue for hooking the column to the box. Possibly can be adjusted out where the column goes through the firewall? That was one of the reasons I used the 70 unit.
