I'm thinking about installing a set of P235r15's with 15x7 4.5" backspace wheels on the front of my stock '67 GTX. Has anyone done this? Any rubbing issues?

Thanks in advance,
Len

I wouldn't think so. I run 255R15's on 8's on the back of my 66. Outer is close, inner wall is 1.25" from the spring. Could run 275's with another 1/2" backspace.

They will hit the front corners of the fenders, 235/70-15 and 235/75-15

Thanks Scott.. I missed FRONT! I'm running 225-70R15's on the front on 7's without issue.

They will also rub frame rails behind tire at full turn. My 225R70x15's did with Cop wheels. I now have 215's on the front with no problems. 1967 R/T.

We have manual steering. So did not want a big fat tire on the front that floats on the road.
So I have 215x70 on a 7 inch rim. IIRC. Wheels have been in storage for a looong time.

Manual in mine. Steering no harder with the 225 radials than my Bee with skinny bias plies redlines.

235X60X15 on my Dodge, I don't recall the backspace though (just off the shelf 15X7 American Racing Torq Thrusts). No rub. I've never compared the Dodge to Plymouth though.
