Chasing some wind noises to try and quiet things up a bit on my 70 Belvedere. The rear pop out windows both seem to not be making great contact to the weather seal. The lever actually travels past a point where it pushes the window into the seal, but then as you go the remainder of the way to the locked position it eases up on the pressure.

Is there a way to adjust the pop-out window to seal interface?

Thanks,
Jim

I never noticed if my pop outs leak air, too much noise from the front vent windows!

Some new vent window seals solved that for me, now onto the next noise. The rear pop out window seals are in nice shape still, so I am hoping there is a trick to adjusting the windows.

I hope you find something, I am in the same boat. I replaced the pop out window seals and noticed the glass does not sit flush with the gasket. When closing the window the latch actually seems to go to far and pushes the glass out a little before stopping. Been trying to figure this one out for a while now ....

That is exactly my situation as well. I do not want to replace the seals only to find out that it does not help.

On my '68 Coronet I VERY carefully hand bent each latch so they'd pull the glass in a little tighter. It worked, but if you try this be very careful because the metal could snap! Then you'd be looking for replacement latches.

The rear pop out windows do go over center and I suspect it's the rubber seal that is not soft enough to make even contact all around. There is also a little plastic button on the lever that stops against the metal panel. Perhaps have a look at that. Is it missing?

Thanks. I do have the buttons still.

Nice boat!

Any progress on this issue? Hosed my car down today to check for leaks after the windshield and back glass were in, and my pop outs leak really bad! And the seals are new!

I still have not addressed my issue. I am reluctant to simply replace the seals knowing that some folks still have the same issue after.

Just broke mine trying to bend the pot metal arm out.
I bent it once, better. Bent it twice, better, I said one more small adjustment bend and good, broken! lol
Anyone have one they wanna sell? Driver side.

Wow, forgot about this one ! I ended up replacing both latches and it did pull the glass in tighter.
