Does anyone know what you call the fuzzy trim pads that run along the top of the front roll-up window "slot" to keep the glass from rattling? Mine are shot, and the window - which is right next to my head coincidentally - rattles and drives me nuts! I'm sure I could buy new ones if I ONLY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE CALLED!

It's for a '70 Roadrunner BTW if anyone knows of a good source...

Thanks

Are you talking about the cat whiskers that are on the inside/outside of the glass at the top of the doors/quarter window openings? Some folks call them window sweepers.

Metro molded parts makes them, so does PUI.......See them for sale all over the place on the internet. Think I bought my set from "The Mopar Shop".

As far as other areas she can rattle in the door...... The linkage from the inside door handle to the latch assembly. The factory put a cloth sheath around the midpoint of the linkage rod. There is also a "L" shaped plastic tab (about 1 1/2" long) that mounts on the inside of the door, opposite from the arm rest. The cloth gets old and falls off, plastic tabs fall off or get removed and not replaced. That area can cause a rattle in your door. If the cloth is gone, use a chunk of windshield washer hose and a couple tie straps or find some cloth sheath to keep it from rattling. Replace the plastic tab if it's missing.

Another area that will rattle is the bottom mount for the window vent frame. The trailing edge of the window frame extends all the way down to the bottom of the door. At the bottom there is a threaded stud. That threaded stud runs up into a housing at the bottom of the rear window vent frame and is tightened by a nut. The factory put in a piece of large pore foam in between the stud and the housing the stud ran into. The factory called it a "anti-rattle" tab. That foam gets old and falls apart. Cut a piece of run of the mill household door weather strip foam and wedge it in where the old foam was...If there was a rattle, it will take care of it.

good luck

Thanks Oz. Thanks Prop. Yeah, the cat whiskers or window sweepers. I'll try all the places you both mentioned. And while I'm at it I'll put Prop's old-skool mods in place as well...
