I just ordered "18 nos 62-65 b body windshield clips" for my 64 fury. the clips I received seem slightly shorter or smaller than the original clips, but its hard to tell because my original ones are basically disintegrated. any one know about this?

the guy also mentions in his add at the end of the description: "double check the size because Mopar made an identical looking clip but it was larger"

that's what worries me, I sent him a question about what he knows about and the larger clips and their application and he was very standoffish in his response. didn't even acknowledge my questions, and just said "I don't have the larger clip, you need to measure your clips before you buy"

I just want to make sure these will work--- I don't care if the size is not original. perhaps these are an updated version but function the same?

The current reproduction windshield clip for your application was based off of the Auveco clip. This clip is the only one that I have encountered and when the initial run was made, it was 10,000 and since then, there has been a second run and have not had any concerns with this particular clip.

Could there have been a slight variation in the clip from the assembly line clip to the over the counter piece, very possibly. Back in the late 70s, I was still able to purchase the original Chrysler clips. Fast forward to the current time frame and Auveco and CarPac who provides the body and repair shops with clips and fasteners have dropped all of this obsolete inventory. It is basically all now reproduction hardware unless you stumble upon some extremely old inventory.

You should be fine with the ones you have purchased.

thank you. the ones I bought are advertised as NOS auveco clips and they are painted green and look old. pretty confident they will work but they are about 1/4 shorter length wise then my old original ones (which are rusted solid and not even recognizable as clips.) and then what he said in his ebay listing worried me a bit.

the 64's were larger, but the replacement ones should work fine. the trim just needs to grab the tension points on the clip.
