Has anyone installed a windshield for an early B body? the main question is, does the gasket install on the glass first, or the body? I need some help.Thanks.

You put the windshield rubber on your new windshield, then set it in the opening.

My windshield guy put the gasket on the body first then set the glass in the gasket. He used a plastic windshield setting tool to seat the glass in the gasket.

What’s early? On a 67 front glass the gasket goes on the body first. On a 67 rear glass the gasket goes on the glass first and rope it in.

If the gasket uses a lock strip or a flap that locks the gasket like 68-70 Bodies, it goes on the body first with a nonhardening sealant. If there is no locking mechanism it goes on the glass and is roped in.

Thanks everyone for your help. The windshield guy showed up today, and all is good. He put the trim back on too.
He put the rubber on the car first, then slipped the windshield in, and folded the flap over.

No sealer. He said it was smooth enough that it wasn't needed. He also did my truck, and it's been fine.
