Windshield wipers are a scam

I’ve used rain x quite often since it came around. I found it to be an excellent back up to wipers , but I’m not ditching the wipers anytime soon.

Rain-X also makes a Windex type product.

Cleans and leaves a repellant residue.

Works well.

I buy my wipers at thrift stores for n average of $3 each.

A few months ago, I bought a tub larger than a 5 gallon bucket full for for $5 at a yard sale.
Only 3 were used, the rest new.
Mostly 2000's era but some modern and a few classic.
My wife's car, my Dakota, and my mom's Dakota are set for a few years, plus a few sets for my Renegade and at least 2 sets for my Satellite, if I ever get around to putting the wiper mechanisms back in.

Yeh, I think I will keep mine, they are pretty handy in the rain.

I've use a soapy Scotch-brite pad to freshen up the edge of the wiper blades, but I'll have to try out the WD40 cleaning trick next. I also used Rain X years ago, but I found that it didn't last long.

How many people still use Bon Ami to deep clean a windshield?

Bon Ami is a non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and multi-purpose powder cleanser that can be used on many hard surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom:
Ingredients: Made with feldspar, tallow soap, and other biodegradable cleaning agents
Safety: Contains no chlorine, phosphorus, perfume, or dye
Effectiveness: Can clean dried-on food, scuff marks, and absorb odors
Surfaces: Safe for use on pots and pans, cooktops, countertops, microwaves, grills, sinks, showers, tile, stainless steel, porcelain, enamel, fiberglass, and acrylic
Packaging: Eco-friendly packaging made with 65% post-consumer recycled material
Bon Ami is gentle enough to use around pets and family. However, prolonged exposure to Bon Ami can cause skin irritation, and eye contact may cause redness or stinging. Ingestion may also cause adverse effects.
Bon Ami uses feldspar instead of quartz as an abrasive, which helps prevent scratching.

I drive a lot! I will clean a set of wiper blades with a mixture of dawn dishsoap and window cleaner using a fine scotchbrite pad, but nothing beats o good pair of blades, I always have a spare set in my van.

Ceramic coated windshield. Peak Optics Blades. Alcohol to clean. Doesn't rain where I live.

I buy the blade material from ebay. I have a good supply. It's more work to change just the blades but it's way way cheaper. And when you have several cars, it's the only way to go! Merry Christmas!
