Winter project

Hey everyone. So my wife got me new carpets for the car for Christmas and I’ve begun a pretty big winter project.

Two questions…and money is a factor at this point in time….

I have manual windows but am toying with changing to power on all four. Do those universal things online work good enough or can I use something out of a newer vehicle that maybe be more reliable in the long run, like something from a civic or the like, and retrofit it? This is just for ‘fun’ so if it’s more work than it’s worth I’ll just do some more arm exercises.

Second, any upgrades or things to do anyone who has already done this thought of after the fact? Only want to tear it apart once haha. Thanks!

Are you replacing everything?
Rear deck, trunk access panel, seat backs etc ...
This does take some time.
Might want to consider sound deadener/heat shield on the floor.
I wouldn't change the windows personally.

Yeah she got me the big kit so I’m restoring everything I can to the best of my ability at home. Yeah I put down dynamat and other sound deadeners. Thought about ripping normal wall insulation off the paper and stuffing it in those spaces on the sides behind the rear seats too. Noted on keeping the cranks. I’m also partial to them myself but the wife disagrees

Some of the later Mopars have motors that will work. There were a few articles and answers in the magazines in the day.
An acquaintance put 85 Chrysler switches in his 66 Charger.

I started mine a few weeks ago, long process but coming together nicely. I would take the opportunity while all the carpet is out to scrap and replace all the seam sealer, replace rear wiring harness and body plugs

This is going to show my ignorance, but what is seam sealer? Yep, wires are a check. I made some changes to things and am running all new wires. Good luck with your project!

Its a perfectly legit question, seam sealer is an adhesive used by the factory between floor panels that overlap. Mine was totally dried out and came off easily with a scraper. Figured I would not have a second chance to re-apply it after the carpet went in.
