Wiper Linkage Bushing

I've run into this sort of thing before, shake it off.

Anyway, is there a solution to this particular problem other than hoping to get lucky at a salvage yard? Around, here most of the older stuff was long ago melted down into smart bombs or rebar or new Japanese/Korean cars.

What year models are plagued with this problem?

Thanks for the response! It appears he has come up with a solution. The wipers on my car work but then turned off, they don't go all the way down into the cowl area. You have to push them to the bottom of the windshield. As previously mentioned the car is in the body shop so when it comes back I'll take a closer look to see what is wrong with it.

How many other mid-late 70's Mopars use this same bushing? I don't think the F bodies do. It's been eons since I've owned one and don't recall ever having a wiper issue.

Some vehicles (not sure about late Bs) leave the wipers up on the windshield a bit if they get switched off with the defroster on. It helps thaw them out, melt accumulated ice, and free them up quicker when the car gets restarted in the morning.
I personally am in the habit of switching the defroster off when shutting the vehicle off cuz they also run the a/c compressor (to make use of the air dryer) and cold starts are hard enough without having the comp clutch engaged.

Deedo, are you sure this wiper bushing deal-y-o goes all the way back to 75? I thought it started w 77 or 78 my.

I don't know about 76's but 75's have a different setup and don't have this problem.

Check wiring on the wiper motor. I had the same problem. There are two wires that look out of place on the front they control the arms coming down.

Yes Jonny... I believe you are basically correct. '78 and '79 have the same piece. I'm really not sure about '77s for example.

So, has everybody got their wiper bushing arm transfer arm thingie now? This problem is almost as old as the cars themselves, I hope Bubby79-300 was able to keep up with the demand, what with everybody ordering at once and all.
