I am having several issuse right now but will try and take one at a time. Is there a way to test the wiper motor without the switch with just using the harness at the firewall? I just want to see if the motor is good and go from there.

BTW thanks for all of the help 70rr-brian and everyone that has been helping me. This is the biggest project I have taken on. This was my dads car and he has done somethings that I am now seeing that were not right. We do not talk anymore so he is no help on the history of the car and he took it apart so here I am figuring it out and fixing what he messed up. I can normally figure most things out but man electrical is really not my thing. The wiring diagram I bought I hope will make it easier.

Motor

You should be able to take a battery and hook up to it and check it. You can use a battery charger on 10 amps. Just put your ground on the case and touch the hot one to one contact in the plug at a time. Good Luck Ronie

Thats what I thought I could do but wanted to make sure. Thanks

A member here left us a "Bench test" for a wiper, i saved it in case i needed it, ill leave it hear and hopefully it will work on yours, not knowing what it is i hope it helps anyway! Good luck:

"Bench testing procedure.

Test #1(Hi speed)

Connect jumper wire from motor case to battery ground.
Connect second jumper wire from battery positive to BROWN lead.
Motor should run hi speed continuously.

Test #2 (Lo speed)

Connect jumper wire from motor case to battery ground.
Connect jumper wire from GREEN wire to battery ground.
Join BROWN and RED wires together and connect a jumper wire from battery positive to them.
Motor should run at slower speed.

Test #3 (Park)

Connect jumper wire from motor case to battery ground.
Connect jumper lead from GREEN to BROWN wire.
Connect jumper wire from red wire to ground.
Connect jumper wire from Blue wire to battery positive.
Motor should reverse and park.

(Depending on where the motor had stopped the park feature may have a full rotation or very short rotation"

Don't remember the members name, sorry.

No problem... Nice Bee! Good luck with it..

Found the problem!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a bad switch among other bad switches I have. I crossed power for the motor and it worked, so I then went and unplugged the wires at the switch and crossed the main hot to the high speed wire and it started running. I will order a new switch soon. Any good places to get one?

Thanks for the help

Thats cool, you may like this lol, I got cleaned up today grabbed my wallet and keys got in my car, i was headed to town! It was just drizzling rain and i turned the wipers on and guess what? NOTHIN! lol...I have another car in the garage im getting ready to primer/seal so i couldn't work on them lol.. Just another day huh.. Saved some gas anyway! Couldn't help but tell you after it happened, i am glad you found your problem, my turn now! I would do a EBAY search, you may get lucky, or there is Year one, there pricey though... A Google search will find you one im sure. put a "wanted wiper switch". in here maybe someone hear has one. Good luck to ya..

That sucks that your wipers went out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but hey at least you can drive your car right now. Hopefully I will be in the next few months.

I have a question, I have a 3 speed wiper switch that came with the new gauge setup I have. Can I use that one? I know that there will be an extra toggle but can I route the wires for this on to work until I can find/afford a new 2 speed switch. Looks like there are many 3 speed switches but no 2 speed ones well under 125.00 which I do not have right now.

I know what you mean with the money end, I really don't know what to tell you with this. Honestly if it was me, I would call who ever you got the new gauge set up from and ask them, I think that would be the safest way so as not to make a larger problem.. Probably not what you want to hear and im sure theres a way, but id ask, parts cost to much to rush into it with a quick fix and then burn something up. My own opinion but i don't want to say what to try and be the cause of a bigger problem.. If you explain it to them, may-be they can either tell you how or maybe tell you what would have happened if you would have tried it.. I do wish you good luck with it! Sorry i couldn't help.

No problem. I actually bought this off ebay many years ago and just never got around to working on the car as family and work keep me so busy. Lets just say 8 years or so but now is the time. I am not trying to rush it just was wondering if it would work. There is still a lot to do so I have the time. Windows, headliner, carpet just to start anyway to get me back on the road oh and the easy part pulling the engine and tranny so I can swap out engines(rebuilding the original engine at some point), new front and rears seals on the tranny. Man I can't wait...........
