Had a major meltdown of my under dash wiring in my 1966 Belvedere II. Bought new aftermarket wiring harness and all went in ok. Issue is I am missing one wire to the windshield wiper switch. It is the B-1 Violet with tracer wire. For the life of me I cannot figure out where this wire is as it is not included in any of the wiring harnesses. Does anyone know is this a separate wire which I will have to make and if so where does it go to? I have included two wiring diagrams with red arrows indicting the wires I am speaking of. Thanks

I looked at the diagrams and one from Mymopar.com. The violet tracer is an input lead that goes to the backup light switch (which on a 727 is the outermost terminals on the neutral safety switch in the transmission). The violet lead from the backup switch/neutral safety switch goes to the backup lights. Start down at the neutral safety switch and try to follow the wires up. The neutral safety switch is its own harness from the transmission (3 wires). The middle terminal, brown wire, goes to the starter relay. Do the wipers work? My guess is that everything works but your backup lights.

Thanks for the reply when I checked my neutral safety switch on the 727 transmission is has only one brown wire to it?? I do not have the 3 lead neutral safety switch??

Sorry, your 66 must have a separate backup switch somewhere. Probably in the steering column. Maybe trace the violet from the rear harness. Going to need someone that knows 66's
