Putting an electrical fuel pump into the roadrunner, but started to figure about the wires - is it worth to get an Aeromotive harness kit, or should you just hack something up yourself?

Should you have a manual fuel pump shut off switch somewhere? Or just run a fused decent gauged wire from the battery, under the carpet somewhere - through a circuit breaker together with the controller line to a relay in the trunk?

Any opinions?

Switch, and relay near the pump. If Aeromotive has a nice setup...it can save some grief. Time is money.

One thing I added on my on my wifes car just for safety reasons was an inertia switch. My thought was its an old car , no air bags or real safety features like a modern car other than the 3 pt belts I added, I couldn't bear the thought of her in a wreck and the fuel pump continuing to run. I just added it to the switch side of the relay.
It also works great as a theft deterent....open the trunk and thump it and it opens the circuit and won't let the pump run, they won't get far if they get it started!
Found this by googling...pretty simple..

Never seen one of those before, its essentially the same thing but with one component. I have a $4 relay that has a fuse holder built in, a $4 inertia switch + the wire.... Using the tach output to monitor is something new though....
Just goes to show theres more than one way to skin a cat!!!

where do you guys buy your inertia switches? Either i suck at google or.. well... I suck at google.

I have a low oil pressure shut off switch in case It gets into a accident, It shuts off the pump under 5 psi. I do like the inertia switch someone post a link where to get one please.
