Guys I'm kinda torn. And like always the young kid needs advice. So I have 3 cars that all need restoration. The easiest would be my sunroof charger(my wife's car) but I want one of mine done first. So that brings it down to my 72 rallye or my 47 Buick . Before you all stone me for even asking this let me say this Buick means a lot to me and is by far one of my most favorite car ever made . So as they both sit there ready for the rotisserie. The Buick needs very little metal fab to the body . I have the drive line ready to go I need to clean and undercoat the frame but that's minor stuff,I have a lot of parts for the Buick but not anywhere near enough to finish it . Now the charger needs a good amount of metal fab but all small easy things I have the drive line ready for this one too all new /rebuilt stuff. I also have about $20k worth of brand new parts for the charger sitting in the back storage room . I could definitely get it almost done with the stuff I have . But still can't finish . Wow ether way I can't get ether car painted because I'm flat broke (I have the equipment but never have tried) I can probably get away with painting the buicks fire wall without any problems so I could actually get it together but the charger I'd probably need a professional at least jam the car and shoot the eng bay and trunk area so I can put it together . I really don't know what to do I want both cars to turn out great but want to get something going and trying to skimp a little .does anyone live in fl that can paint maybe you need something I have or maybe need help with a project I just don't know I don't want to get rid of ether car !
I hate body work as you guys can see

Buick would be great when done and it doesn't look to need all that much. But I'd say getting the chrome work done will be expensive.
The charger looks great as is.
Paint work can be a daunting task but if taken slowly you can have a great looking paint job even if it's painted in your garage.

My opinion is what could be done the fastest to hit the road and enjoy. Get an easier project out of the way then go to work on the other project or your wife's car lol gotta make sure she is happy.
But that's just my .02 cents

If I do her car then all my nice high dollar parts for my rallye will go missing and for her car that stuff will be wasted . The charger is worse then it looks has a lot of bad body work under that paint. The chrome bill will be extremely expensive (trust me I know this is my3rd Buick) but the biggest thing is I run into a missing part on the Buick I'm sunk the charger there's a good chance I have it ,(or can borrow it off my wife's car)

Myself id store that Buick someplace safe and dry until i could do it up right. The Charger would likely be the one you could do cheaper since you say you have many parts. Does it really matter if its your wife's car? Cant you enjoy it also? The other thing and please don't take this the wrong way is saying that your "flat broke" makes me wonder why you are you thinking of restoring either car at this time. Best of luck and i hope things work out

This is something I did as a hobby after I got home from work I'd stay in the garage for a few hours here and there it was like my release ,some guys go fishing ,most drink beer ,I turn wrenches on my cars it's very calming for me . Since I'm no longer working I have no income and don't know when I will . But I want to do something productive to keep my mind off my miserable life ! My back doctor said I need another back surgery asap and I kinda feel if I get something at least setup on the rotisserie I'll have something to look forward to after my surgery. I don't like talking about my back it bums every one out and I rather not do that. . I'm just afraid if I put the wrong car up I'll get to a point and the easy stuff will be gone or need money then I'll be stuck

If you have back problems and need surgery you might come out ok and then you might not and then you will have a hard time working on them I have had 2 back surgeries and a triple bypass after the bypass i just lost my ambition to work on my RR and sold it .I was having a sorta hard time before the bypass and I'm 51 had the bypass 2 years ago it is something to think about i would ask the doctor to see how you might turn out before you decide and go from there .

If I was in your situation, I'd keep and work on my most favourite car, selling the other to help finance it. I'd love to have a fleet of mopars but I cannot afford to dump money into more than one at a time. Besides my wife would kill me if I started collecting future projects in the driveway. Plan and budget accordingly so that you won't be forced to sell a partially completed project.
Take care of your health first & take on some small work to occupy your mind that won't risk further complications to your back, etc. I could not find the time these past few weekends to get much done on my Polara which is frustrating, but that's life! What little time I could spare to work in my shop, I just cleaned up my benches. (I swear someone goes in there and keeps messing it up!).
Nice Buick btw. I love that body style. Reminds me of a Hudson Hornet I saw for sale around my place. It needed restoration, but I made a promise, one car project at a time!

Sell them both and get a good 64-71 B-body.
Thats one idea or maybe wait till your on your feet again and then decide. You said you have the equipment to paint a car? Then I'm going to assume you have a garage in which to do it. Go for it. Paint it yourself. Do as much as you possibly can do. I know i can speak for not only myself but others when i say we want to see you feeling well and doing what you like best, working on your car. Were pulling for ya!!! Best of luck

is this actually not a good idea?
seems like you could trade off a lot and still keep some of the parts,n then youd have a driver charger to enjoy?

and then you can build your wifes car and keep her happy whilst you drive yours.
??

it also seems like you need a mopar buddy.
most of my mopar friends we all stay in touch and go help each other on our cars/weekends.
you should reach out and see if theres anyone local to you.

Thanks guys ,r.c. not a chance in hell, I sold my 70 charger to get the 72 rallye and I sold my 71 rt charger to get the Buick! So been there done that . I like these two but there both staying I've tried selling my charger a few times but after I explain to buyers how much stuff I have and all the good stuff I tell them never mind . I'm lucky enough I have a few guys who like to come over and learn how to do stuff so I can sit and talk them threw it (and supervise ) I I really can't do much of anything myself as I have quite a few problems best I could possibly do is weld a little here and there but it would most definitely need to be on the rotisseri, as bending is out of the ? I have a garage but it's nothing fancy (definitely not like rc 's new fortress) but I can have a car on a rotisserie in it (barley) paint booth maybe my wife hates fumes. If I was 100% I'd be done already driving both cars and working on my wife's charger but that's not possible anymore, the first surgery was ok to a point I can walk better but pain is threw the roof the second surgery doesn't have a very good outcome it looks like but there's a chance (there's more bad then good on the outcome chart ) so I don't know do I go for it and hope for the best or live in utter pain the rest of my life? But ether way I want something to drive and enjoy (the cars take my mind off my back)

Keep them both and do what you can when you can. It took me 27 years before I started rebuilding my RR, and it sat in my garage for 12 years after I bought my house before anything was done. If you have time and doesn't cause too much pain, learn how to paint, you can always setup a booth in your garage with some plastic curtains that go around the car, but you will have to engineer something to vent out the paint fumes! I totally get that working on your cars takes the mind off problems, I have been out of work for a while, not due to disability, but because I am too specialized and the job market for what I do has dried up here, so I do the same thing, work on my cars, gives a great sense of satisfaction actually doing something.

Do the 47 and sell me the other one for a few dollars....good luck

I really have to agree with the guys that have suggested you sell up and buy a car that is done. Even though you have tried to sell in the past, be persistent. I know what it is like to get attached to cars, but at the end of the day, if you can't work on them due to health and unemployment then the decision is easy. I know you like the 71 - 74 body style, so buy one that is mint with the proceeds from the sale of the others. You have mentioned your back is screwed, your wife does not like paint fumes, you don't have the parts to finish any of the cars, they all need some sort of body work etc. There really is no other choice. I hope what ever you decide works out for you but this is my 0.02c. Good Luck.
