I know it's going to be a good one. The wind here is at least 25-30 and gusting to 40 at times and from the SE and the front is still NW of here. It's sucking in a LOT of moisture, that's for sure. Humidity inside my shop 83%. The weather guessers say it's going to be worst on the north side of I-10 and I'm at least 10 miles from that so maybe I'll luck out...again. For some reason, I-10 seems to be some kind of a border but my guess is all the heat from the industry along the ship channel has more to do with that

Local news said winds 18 to 20 steady with more than 30mph gusts. Kinda odd that it's saying that Texas City which is closer to the coast is only 6mph. No rain as of right now....

My mom lived in Big Piney and occassionally gives me weather updates and a story about life in Montana in the '50s. She's elderly. From what I gather, it was, and still is, cold.
Correction: Wolf Point Montana. Big Piney is in Wyoming.

I hope they are wrong and everything is calm and sunny. I always liked the for-casts from old "Tex Antionne". He was the only honest weather man as he always said; "Here's the official guess!" No one knew that he was loaded much of the time but it came out when he making a comment about a rape case that cost him his job.

They told us to prepare for 70 mph winds, rain and the possibility of quarter size hail and tornadoes. Hopefully not. Two weeks ago my wife’s business was hit by a tornado and we’re still getting stuff sorted out. I also just finished 1,400 foot of fence.... definitely don’t want to be fixing it before I even get to use it.

If you’ve never experienced genuine cold, it goes like this:
Bring portable compressor outside. Hose won’t uncoil in the cold, and if you force it it will shatter. Same with the power cord. Power up compressor six inches from tire and try airing up with coiled, frozen hose. Air chuck doesn’t work because nothing will seal. Attempting to air up tire simply releases remaining air in tire, effectively stranding Jeep in driveway. Any movement of Jeep without air now destroys an expensive tire because even tires crack in this cold.
Gonna be a bad weekend, sorting out something that takes 15 minutes in the summer.
Oh yeah, and it’s winter, so it’s also dark.

Okay Sahara. You know where we are, was minus 31C this morning.
You have the dark which would be a MAJOR hinderance to me. When I had your problem, I took the wheel off took it into the house and warmed it up. Then put air into it. I had no other choice. Eons ago I had changed a starter at -30F in the driveway . Have a little trouble getting up off my knees now.
We are thankful that we very few tornados no floods or hurricanes.
Looking forward to Zihwat/ Ixtapa in March. Have you tried SAN Patricio . Good people, no high rises. Very quiet though.

Sask gets cold. You guys get wind like we don’t. Generally it only gets windy here when it warms up.
Tomorrow future son in law is going to drop off a big Herman Nelson. Gonna just point it at wheel enough to warm it so I can get air into it long enough to get to tire shop.
Wife and I aren’t resort/drinking people. My friend owns a place right on the beach just outside of Mazatlan so we stay there. I try to get down two or three times a year if I can get cheap airfare. We aren’t typical tourists, although we definitely aren’t mistaken for nacionales. We just kinda live and enjoy the place, people, and food. Brought a stray cat back just before Christmas. Coolest cat ever.
