Most of the time i disregard things like this but at the same time, i keep reading more and more about Iran and nothing seems to add up to good. Here is what i read this AM, you be the judge or maybe all this crap all the time is just that, a bunch of crap, i don't think so and haven't for a long time, Anything over there and especially with Iran seems more like waiting for bad.

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/world/asia/article3246732.ece

When it comes to Iran i believe the last sentence... "Now, it seems, the time for talk is fast disappearing. "

"they", Iran want us dead...
I want to live......
"they" talk to buy time! talk is cheap.

I can't seem to do anything with that link? I don't see any article on Iran when it opens and when I try to open one of the articles that is there is just loops back .....

I couldn't find the link either Ron......

As far as the Iran situation goes, best way I can sum it up.......Tic Toc Tic Toc Tic Toc

I personally think Israel will take out their nuke facilities again, like they did quite a while back & will probably attack have to do a preemptive attack on Iran either way, whether the USA or the UN help or not... We may have to supply bunker busters bombs, but they will probably have lead the strike... But who knows with or weak a$$ president we have now, he reminds me so much of weah a$$ president Jimmy Carter, doesn't all of this stuff lately remind you of when they took the embassy & hostages ?, then they weren't released until Pres. Reagon become sworn in, just look at the recent attack & taking of the UK's embassy... Israel has the greatest danger & the most to loose, especially if Iran gets nukes or the capability of making & using them, Iran has said time after time they would wipe Israel off the face of the earth, if they could... Now the Iranians supposedly have one of our "stealth drones" in their possession.... Just my Opinion, sorry for the rant....

Sorry guys, I tried it before i submitted this and it was fine, Now i cant get it to work but found it again, ive never had trouble with the Times page before, sorry... Here is a copy and paste of it if you want to read it..... One of the points in it made me take interest (high-lighted), I hate to see us get involved with yet another problem in the M-E, It is sounding like a big mess may be coming soon over there. Just wanted to share the article is all, as i know you all don't want us involved in the mess over there either.. But something has to give, sanctions doesn't seem to be helping. The US said we, will not allow Iran to become a nuclear factor..

"The unceremonious expulsion by Britain of two dozen Iranian diplomats yesterday marked a sea-change in the West’s relationship with the Tehran regime.

After years of dogged negotiations, diplomacy has hit a wall — and the prospect of a military strike against Iran’s nuclear installations has jumped to the top of the international agenda.

“The war with Iran is already here,” pronounced editorials in all three of Israel’s leading daily newspapers yesterday. An extraordinary public debate about the pros and cons of attacking Iran erupted in Israel, with a former head of Mossad, Meir Dagan, accusing the Defence Minister, Ehud Barak, of planning a raid within the year.

“I’m very troubled,” said Mr Dagan, who was head of the Israeli intelligence service at a time of mysterious breakdowns in the Iranian nuclear industry and targeted killings of atomic scientists in Tehran. “What I understand [from Mr Barak’s statements] is that Israel must act within that time frame. I don’t share that appraisal.”

Since the publication last week of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report on the Iranian nuclear programme, there has been a realisation across Western governments that a steady escalation of sanctions may not be enough to halt or even delay Iran’s drive towards nuclear-weapon status.

“Iran is the issue that I wake up in the morning worrying about,” said a senior US general on a visit to London last week. “It is our stated policy that we will not allow Iran to become a nuclear factor.”

The hardening of the Iranian regime — the storming of the British Embassy in Tehran is being seen as part of a radicalisation of politics there — and the evidence from the IAEA of a nuclear programme have encouraged Israeli hawks.

Until now, Israel has used the possibility of its own pre-emptive strike on Iran as a way of putting pressure on the US to take over the planning themselves, and as a device to accelerate sanctions against Iran. Covert action in Iran was seen as the preferred Israeli strategy — “a new kind of war”, in the words of one Israeli defence official.

For many Israelis a nuclear Iran is seen as an existential threat and is compared with the threat that the Jews faced in Europe before the Holocaust. The country has taken delivery of 55 US-made GBU-28 bunker-busting bombs and has been running air-to-air refuelling drills over Greek airspace. Since it lacks heavy long-range air force bombers it is dependent on its F15 and F16 warplanes to hit targets in western Iran and farther inland.

While there has been sabre-rattling in the past, Israel has now identified a specific window for military action. The influential commentator David Landau emphasised that the world had to take seriously warnings on Iran by the Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu. The Israeli leader has said that, as a last resort, he would bomb Iranian nuclear facilities.

“He means what he says,” Mr Landau said. “He does not want to go down in history as the leader on whose watch a fanatical enemy achieved the means to cow, terrorise and threaten to destroy the Jewish state while the rest of the world stood by and Israel itself did nothing.”

With the Iranians moving most of their enrichment work into a chamber burrowed deep underneath a mountain at Fordow military base, there is a real chance that it will become impregnable to all but a high-powered American attack.

The IAEA report calculates that Iran has about five metric tonnes of low enriched uranium. If it were enriched to weapons grade, that would be enough for four bombs. It also has a stock of 20 per cent enriched uranium that could be upgraded.

A military strike could plunge the entire region into war or, at the very least, derail the Arab Spring. Syria could try to deflect attention from its brutal repression of protests and turn on the arch-enemy Israel.

Israeli fighters would have to cross Iraqi airspace or Saudi Arabia. They would probably also strike at known rocket storage positions in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip to prevent an Iranian-inspired retaliation from Hezbollah units.

Shortly before leaving London for Tehran yesterday, one of the expelled Iranian diplomats told The Times by telephone: “Remember that I am one of those who was ready to talk, even when we disagreed.”

Now, it seems, the time for talk is fast disappearing."

And now they supposedly have one of our droans. TIC TIC TIC TIC

Deja Vu all over again from the same sabre rattling leading up to the Iraq debacle, and now on to the next stop of the US military's Middle East tour! Let the Israelis do something about this time.

Israel is well able to take care of them self..... The bible says God will bless them that bless Israel..... and cursings for those who don't..... It also says we should pray for the piece of Israel..... just saying..... I love Israel....

I think the Isrealis would love nothing more than to take care of the problem themselves but they've been somewhat restrained. Remember Gulf I when Hussein started firing Scuds into Isreal for no apparent reason? Isreal wanted a piece of the action but backed down at the behest of OUR government and has been doing so for years. Nothing new here. They've been waiting for our blessings but it don't look like that's going to happen any time soon, so they'll probably wind up taking matters into their own hands.

Sometimes ya just gotta let the dog off the leash!!!

Well said, Satellite65.

Satellite65 really couldn't have said this any better, we have been holding Israel back for a long time, there are a few others but its us more then the rest. Israel is MORE then capable of taking care of this and the rest of them over there... Iran, Syria, ect has already said they aren't going to be happy until Israel is literally wiped off the earth. I do believe that Israel is or will take matters into there own hands, they aren't going to sit and wait until there country is destroyed, its an old adage that even a rat will fight if backed into the corner and thats exactly what there doing.. The whole world has been trying to get this stopped with Iran, seems nothings working, so its just a matter of time. That dog is about to slip the leash holding it.

There's 2 problems with all this. First, if Israel does attack Iran, it will compel all other Muslim nations to attack Israel, and in return that will drag US into the conflict. It will also divert attention from what is going on in Syria and unite that country. Second, it is painfully obvious that there is no military power in the world other than us(US). Britain and France together took forever to get a third world rated power like Qaddafi out of Libya when we weren't leading the way.
So I doubt that anything will happen unless WE do it.

First, not all other Muslim nations will attack Israel they will remain neutral because they don't want to break ties with us. Believe it or not we supply most of the good Muslim coutries with most of the military weaponry they have. I know this fact pisses most people off but if we didn't do it China or Russia would.

Secondly, Libya took so long because NATO took more of an overwatch and air support role. The Libyan rebels did most of the ground fighting.

I'm with you in my beliefs, brother. What a can of worms! I have no problem with Israel, or a Jewish state. I do think they could have worked better with the Palestinians to share it. But that is too late. Maybe Israel should move? Why put a fire in the middle of the powder-room! If you would read your history, you would know that Israel was the destination of the "exodus" of Jews from Europe after WWII. Before that, there was not that much conflict there. That was the cradle of many religions, and, for the most part, they got along. The Jews gravitated there after the war, and I dont blame them. A Jewish state, where they could be safe, and free. Sounds good, but I think they kinda evicted the Palestinians. Had it been more of a secular society, with total religious freedoms, it might have worked.
Now we western powers are tied to an ally that really [geographicaly, and ideologicaly speaking] shouldn't be where they are. Israel is an ally of the U.S., but acts in its own interest. Hence it's many settlement construction projects in disputed lands. Yes, you can criticize Israel without being thought of as anti-semitic!
Bottom line, there is no easy answer here. But a nuclear Iran makes things alot more dangerous for all of us.

Now, how bout North Korea! All they are waiting for is a reliable launch vehicle [that wont blow-up the nuclear warhead on the launch pad!] and they will be a serious threat also! Why is it that Russia and China ALWAYS vote against us with these rogue ********!

Russia, China, Venezuela, Spain, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos {whatever they are called now} & North Korea, even France sometimes, amongst many others are Communist, Socialist, Progressive, Idealogical {spelling?} countries, no matter how they act or vote in the UN, they are not acting in the best interest of the world or any western Democratic/Republic based free voting countries... Were Israel is now was a fraction of were it was originally, I'm not exactly sure of the exact geographics, of the Hebrews before the mass exidous of the Jews & Hebrews under Egypt's rule way back in history, I don't really know how so many Jews ended up in Germany... I also think it was the War Pact Allied Alliance western countries somewhat punishing the Arabs/Palestinians for supporting & helping the Nazi's in WWII, at least that's the way I think I remember the stories... It's just my opinion, not facts, I'm not Jewish & don't know many that I know of, but I think they are in a real bad situation & should at least go out fitting, not just role over the political pressures of countries, that have a financial/political & scientific/humanitarian {making $$$$ off the Iranians & Koreans} interests in the region & are protecting Iran, North Korea & others... That region has been in some sort of war or conflict from the beginning of biblical history, all in the name of religion & GOD or whomever he is referred to by parties in question...

the only answer in nuke them all, and turn their country into an oil refinery

The Iranians had a nuclear missle that was just ready to become operational the other day.

Mossad, the Israeli secret agents, took down the entire plant and assassinated the scientist that was heading up the project.

A few months back they found out that the Siemens controllers that were used to control the centrifuges for their nuke project had viruses installed by someone before they were delivered and worked fine until everything was almost ready and then they spun wildly out of control.

Mossad is inside Iran and has been for years doing everything it can to slow down/stop Iran from becoming nuclear.

Yeah, I always though it would be quite funny if Iran were to be met with some sort of "unfortunate mishap" at one or more of their facilities.
