For the last few years, I've taken Plymouth trucks from Tractor Supply to our club party for the toy collection box.
It's like the week prior to Christmas.
They probably will have Plymouth trucks again this years.

My father always bought our tree (Douglas Fir) at the last minute because he got a better deal then.
This week, it has started already.

In the George C. Scott version of A Christmas Carol, when Scrooge is confronted by the Ghost Of Christmas Future he becomes penitent and says:
"I may have spoken hastily about things to which I had not given a great deal of thought".
I've checked the book and that line doesn't seem to be in there.
Great line though, right up there with "......decrease the surplus population".

The question is not a new one, but "Would it be too much to ask to get through Thanksgiving before we are bombarded with Christmas?".
Last year I just got fed up and literally went on strike Dec. 25th.
Thanksgiving is underemphasized and Dec. 25th is over emphasized.
On Kelly, The Rock says "....grateful on Christmas day" just past the 11 min. mark.
Well, that is good.
I think Christmas would be a whole lot better is it was not "celebrated" for 8 (?) weeks prior.
My opinion. Yours is just as good.

The table's set, we raise a toast
The father, son, and the Holy Ghost
I'm so glad this day only comes once a year
You can keep your opinions, your presents, your happy new year

The 8 weeks of "celebration" prior to Christmas has very little if any relation to the risen Saviour born as a human child.
It's 99.5% commercialization for profit. Hence the terms "Holiday Season", give the gift, shop here and now, join this sales celebration...

But yes I don't think people really reflect on what they should be Thankful for until they have troubles, illness or heartache in their life.
Sad but true but the loss of religion hurts us as a society.
How much it hurts we might found out after we're gone.

Christmas season begins the day after Thanksgiving. Until then, happy thanksgiving everyone !!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Family, friends, food and good conversation! 440
