Guys,
My air-conditioning system is complete with the exception of the suction line that bolts to the engine side of the compressor. The car is a '73 Satellite 318. The hose that attaches to the firewall is still there, the part I am missing is the part that bolts to the compressor itself and attaches to the hose with a screw thread coupling about 3/4" or so in diameter. I assume the large can is part of this fitting, as the rubber hose / coupling I have on the car now doesn't have this but it is shown in the FSM. I have seen pictures of setups without this can on the suction line, so I'm not 100% sure if I need it or not.
This is a picture that looks like my setup. I need the part that bolts to the air-cleaner side of the compressor and then connects to the rubber line that goes to the firewall.
Let me know what you have.
