I have 30 906 heads that are nice and in my shop for 40 years = $150pr.
They do not have any sunk valves or ever run on unlead gas. I will look this
weekend if you still need them.

I am embarrassed that I cannot figure out the date codes on the heads

The blocks are easy like writing the date on a check. the heads are different.

They are on a 10,000 day Chrysler calender that I can not figure out.

Can you tell me the range of numbers low to high that you are looking for if
still interested.

Sorry = I am elderly and not as sharp as I used to be!

John,
I don't know exactly what dates he's looking for, but since he said, "with October 1968 or slightly earlier Date code." I'll give you the numbers from mid-September through the end of October.

September 18 is #2243 and October 31 is #2286. Each day goes up one number, so September 19 is #2244, September 20 is 2245, and so on.

Hope that helps.

Hi Yes. Please look. I really want a pair with the same October 1968 date. Just tell me the numbers cast into the inside of the heads.

For example a 18 October 1968 date should be cast as 10188. 10 month, 18 day and 8 for 1968.

You should also see the full part number cast as 2843906. the last three numbers of the part number making it a "906" Head.

Thank you Sir!

However, I do not think the gentleman know how to understand the codes by
the explanation that he gave me.

Im going to chime in here at the risk of getting deleted by forum master. John, you are wrong. Went out and looked at my 906 heads I pulled in 1985 off a 68 Chrysler. Date on them is 01 30 8. Clearly not a 10000 day date code. It is a real date code of Jan 30 1968. Heads are not for sale. Sitting on shelf untouched and unused all this time.

I stand by my Statement!
I have 30 sets and many end in a 30/40/50 last two
numbers and I doubt that they were made in 1930s/1940s/1950s.
But I am strictly a racer and not a collector/restorer.

Perhaps you are right BUT I have 30 sets to look at and you have 1 set.

No one is going to throw you out on my behalf.
I have no special standing on this or any other Forum.
I am certainly wrong as often as the next guy = Maybe even a
lot more at my age of 75.

However, If I bother posting something = It is only in hope
of being of some small use - Not to deliberately screw someone up you
have my word on that!
