I knew nothing going in.I'm not sure how much the shop knew either.I'm sure a lot of time would have been saved if I knew what I needed up front.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.I'm not sure if things have changed but I registered my 47 desoto with a vintage 47 plate, the year is stamped and printed in those years. I checked online to see if the number was being used, it wasn't. Had to take a Pic of it not on a car and email or attach (cant remember which)it to my paperwork, this was about 10 years ago. Maybe 5 years ago I gave a 71 style plate to a friend for her 71 beetle and she had no problems. I want to do the rest of my cars with vintage plates but haven't got around to it yet. I have one with an interesting number of 909 909 that I want to put on my 71 dart
